FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
A flat $150 is applied to the initial consult session, followed by an hourly rate of $125 thereafter. I do also offer discounts for training packages. This is where the client has the opportunity to receive on-going guidance and is able to gain a momentum with their training via weekly private coaching sessions, the number of which are tailored to the individual and their dog's needs.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I always start with a 90 in-home minute consult. With most behavioral issues it's so important to meet the dog, see their home environment and gather information from the client about what they're experiencing. It's easy to miss something or to proceed incorrectly otherwise. I always encourage owners to establish a clear set of goals and to think about what's achievable for their family and for their dog. From here we can set a session schedule according to the client's convenience. I also always provide write-ups of their sessions with homework included to optimize progress.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a Bachelor of Science in Animal Management and am a Certified Professional Dog Trainer through the Council of Certified Professional Dog Trainers. Continuing education within my field and remaining up to date with methods and techniques is also of great importance to me and necessary to maintain my CPDT-KA credential.
