Introduction: In 2010, I received my bachelor of arts in classical voice from California State University San Bernardino. Then I continued my education and received my master of music in classical voice from Manhattan School of Music and graduated in 2012. Currently, I teach music part-time at a Catholic School in Covina and sing every Sunday as the soprano soloist for Pilgrim Congregational Church in Pomona. I believe in a healthy and natural approach to singing. I also believe that a singer should be trained in music theory, rhythm and ear training. I teach both of these essential aspects in my lessons. During the 2007-08 academic year, I studied abroad in Southern Germany through CSUSB's International Program. For an entire year, I studied the German language while I continued my studies in voice. The summer between my master's degree, I studied in Florence, Italy. Those days were spent eating, breathing, learning the Italian language and way of life. I share both of these experiences with you because as a classical soloist, it is required that you sing and preferably speak in as many languages as possible. With time spent in both these beautiful countries, I had the opportunity to completely embrace the culture and language. I realize you may not want to be a classical singer; however, if you learn the technique of one, I guarantee you can sing any type of music you please. You see, in Opera there are no microphones or anything to enhance the volume of one's voice. Therefore, one has no choice but to do it correctly. My goal as your teacher will be to help you understand your voice and for you sing to the best of your ability, with a healthy and natural technique.
