Scope - replace hallway floors (due to slight flooding/leak); gut reno one of the bathrooms; customize hallway closet(s). Pros: - Contractor was prompt to respond and quick to commence the job - Joe and his team are very professional - Quality of work is good - It is apparent that State Wide has a Subject Matter Expert for every aspect of the reno (different folks for plumbing, carpentry, tiles, flooring). Most likely 3rd parties but pros nonetheless. - flexible payment structure (also accepts CCs) Cons: - Execution was very slow; perhaps Joe's team was focused on bigger projects (it was mentioned on a few occasions) and it was apparent that our reno was not prioritized. - there were items that should have been spec'd out and ordered as to avoid delays (e.g. floor should have been matched on day1, subway tiles etc..). Numerous days were wasted as the team was waiting on the materials - my biggest frustration with the reno was the lack of empathy and accountability. Excuses/justifications were presented instead of just owning up to the significant delay (work was supposed to be executed in 10-14 days max; it took 30 days). It would have been completely fine if the delay was communicated properly instead of us hounding the team. Overall, we are happy with the renovation.Mar 16, 2017Verified
