As a health care practitioner myself I tend to look out for certain qualities when it comes to choosing a practitioner for my own needs or the needs of my patients and family. Jen is not only smart and highly educated in the field of nutrition she also listens to her patients and in doing so she makes you feel that she understands our goals but also our difficulties. She treats patients from her heart. What I also admire in Jen is that she is constantly attending seminars and lectures. She is always up to date on the latest research in the field of nutrition which is constantly evolving. It makes me feel that I am not only in the hands of a competent nutritionist but also in the hands of a practitioner who is modern in her thinking and not afraid of trying new approaches. Thanks Jen!

Jen is amazing! She helped me lose 60 pounds and keep it off for over 3 years. But more importantly she taught me how to eat for lifelong health and how to use exercise to make me look and feel strong. Her easy to follow steps for grocery shopping, eating out and cooking at home has made my journey more enjoyable and opened up a new world of food to me. She gives you all the tools you need, and if you're willing to use them you will get amazing results! She's also very patient and knows this is a life change/process and will be your biggest cheerleader along the way.

I thought I had known a lot about eating healthy--I had read a lot of books on the subject. But Jennifer definitely filled in much needed a great information for my overall nutrition plan. Each body is unique, and no one book can address each persons specific health and nutrition issues. Thank you Jennifer for your guidance and help!

Jennifer is a unique and exceptional nutritionist. I worked with Jen in an integrative medical setting for many years, and I was constantly impressed with her breadth of knowledge. She understands nutrition at the biochemical level, yet she can explain concepts in easy-to-understand ways. Jen creates dietary programs that are individualized, but still easy to manage. Most importantly Jen is compassionate, understanding and a joy to work with. I highly recommend Jennifer Katz!

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

    I attend Doctor and Practitioner Seminars 2-3 times/year.

  • What types of customers have you worked with?

    My specialties include palate re-training and teaching clients to like and prepare healthy foods in place of junk food favorites, while kicking sugar and processed food addictions. With coaching and support, it can be easy and fun to maintain a healthy kitchen full of foods that can be prepared without sacrificing time or flavor. From a clinical approach, I am well-versed in reversing Type II Diabetes and facilitating Nutritional gut & liver detoxification and overall metabolic re-start. Weight-loss is usually a byproduct of the aforementioned and most all my clients lose significant amounts of weight in the first 3 months. I also do several home cooking and food prep sessions, and grocery store tours which are integral parts of all healthy eating plans no matter the end goal. I provide the option for fitness coaching and always integrate emotional eating coaching as this topic never fails to arise. Changing your body is a very dynamic process that requires a multi-functional approach!

  • What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

    Be prepared to establish an ongoing coaching relationship with your Nutritionist: this is a process that requires support and attention. Anyone can Google the best way to lose weight, or what to eat post-pregnancy, but the real wisdom comes in knowing how to automate a lifestyle that harbors such practices in a realistic manner; knowing yourself, your limitations, tendencies, patterns etc. and being willing to try new approaches when the old ones are clearly ineffective...
