Rickey has been working on several major projects for a month to beautify our 100 year old house and property we recently moved into in Ventura. We want to continue to work with him, so stand in line. The jobs he has completed are ranging from carpentry to brick work. All his work is sound and worthy. Rickey is truly a good worker and his work results are excellent. In addition to being intelligent and a good communicator, the quality of his work is dependable, if not exceptional. He solves problems quickly and avoids creating them. His work ethics are professional and his attitude is good. He is a happy person which to us is valuable. We enjoy hearing him sing to himself as he works sometimes. He pays attention to others around him, making him and his work less intrusive. He respects the grounds and other people's work. We only have good things to say about Rickey and recommend him highly.

Rick built a tool shed for me next to my house. The building is approx 8ft X 10ft. He saved me money by utilizing some material that I had on hand. It was done in a week and done well. No leaks from rain. I can't think of anything that would have made my experience with him better. Nice guy to work with. Reasonably priced.

I have never used Thumbtack, nor hired someone that wasn't personally referred . I took a chance and am so happy to now be able to personally refer Rickey Lawson of Orickiii Construction. He worked on a fence for me. He was the most prompt of the 3 estimates I received. He is professional, personable, knowledgeable, and worked within the quote he gave me, which is unusual in my experience. I added a project of installing a water heater and not only did he complete that project within a reasonable hourly rate but he saved me money by repairing my second water heater( he took home the heating element to tinker with it) instead of replacing the second water heater. How honest is that? Please feel free to get my contact info from Rickey if you want me to go on and on about what a superb contractor he is for your project. Also I want to add that while my husband is no longer able to work on the house, Rickey never took advantage of my lack of knowledge. He does have a great sense of humor, no matter how many times I said 48 inches instead or 48 feet, I never felt out of the loop from start to finish in completing this project within the quote and time frame originally provided! He is trustworthy in my opinion as well as an excellent craftsman.

I needed to replace both my front gates. I called Rickey, and he promptly came out, looked over the project, and provided an estimate that was more than reasonable. He even told me how he could repair one of the gates instead of replacing it, which would save me money. I can't say enough good things about Rickey. He is a consummate professional, honest to a fault, and has a great sense of humor. He did a fantastic job on may gates. I know that he even put in more work than was covered in the original estimate, but he refused my offer to revise the bill upwards. He's just a rock-solid guy, and did a great job for me. In fact, we are going to ask Rickey to build a new patio cover for us. I highly recommend Rickey.

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I do. I charge a specific price per foot when building a wood fence or $20.00 and hour if that is the way the customer wants to go. Normally I charge $12.50 for every running foot of redwood fencing including labor which is the preferred job I like to do.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
To make sure that I know the exact nature of the job at hand, and that the customer understands what I am going to do for the quoted price.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I completed the carpenters union apprentice program in 1985 as well as have over 35 years in the carpentry trade.
