FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Some cases are hourly and some are contingent where I only get paid for a successful outcome. I believe my hourly rate is one of the lowest in the area. Also, I do not bill for copying and regular mailing as some firms do. I charge only for actual work done on a case. An attorney's hourly rate is important because it determines what the eventual total cost of representation will be.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
First a phone interview to see if I can help, then an in person meeting to make sure the client feels comfortable with me and I with him or her, then depending on the client's wishes, entering into a written retainer (mandated by state law) and beginning work on the case.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Yes, the State Bar has rules for continuing education.
