Rebecca was our day of wedding coordinator for our backyard wedding in June 2018 and she did a truly fantastic job. There were definitely some logistical challenges we were worried about including getting our guests to the venue from an offsite parking lot and coordinating the set up of various things after the wedding started due to heat ( including our dessert bar and wedding favors). Rebecca handled all of this spectacularly and made us feel at ease the whole time. When we under-planned for the amount of ice we needed for the day and ran out, Rebecca drove 10 minutes to the store to get more for us. I honestly really didn’t appreciate how much I needed a wedding coordinator until the day of the wedding. It just couldn’t have gone as smoothly without her and I would have been way more stressed. Only con ( and it didn’t feel like enough to deduct stars ) was I felt like this business was really aggressive about getting a review. I have gotten at least 10 requests between them and thumbtack (compared to our other small business vendors who asked once) in the 2.5 weeks since the wedding. I understand how important reviews are and always intended to write a glowing review of this company. Have truthfully had other priorities since the wedding finished and Just didn’t particularly appreciate the number of requests. That being said would not hesistate to hire them again. As a woman business owner it pains me to have to write this. We are regretfully submitting this review after trying to resolve our issues directly with AnnaMarie the Owner of the company. We want it to be known this review is NOT to reflect the work of our assigned coordinator Stacey and her wonderful daughter. We hired A&R to do day of coordination for our small, 65 person outside ceremony which had some tedious details with a difficult vendor, but that we were continuously assured would be fine. The details and final “hand off” of our ceremony was given officially to our coordinator to takeover the Thursday before our wedding, but we trusted AnnaMarie who assured us everything was going to be great and “this wasn’t their first rodeo.” Long story short one main piece was not coordinated, our photographer!! As I walked to meet my father at the top of the mountain for my ceremony I instead was met by a frantic wedding planner running towards me on the phone with AnnaMarie panicked because the photographer details had been inaccurately coordinated and we had a photographer at the wrong location. Luckily one of our guests stood in as photographer as we could not wait with older guests in the heat during a standing outside ceremony for our photographer to take an Uber and climb to the top of a trail to meet us. Additionally, our wood signs were never returned to us and we were told that one of our fathers reported someone had gathered them. Trusting guests at a wedding to accurately report the wheareabouts of decorations is interesting to me, but okay? Stacey and her daughter did the best they could with what they were given by an owner who in the end was going through a large life transition (which she self-disclosed during our meetings) and I feel just didn’t have her head in her work. It happens to all of us and this incident seems to be an isolated one for A&R. I was so impressed initially by AnnaMarie that I hired her over three others. We are definitely disappointed that AnnaMarie has been unwilling to take any responsible for what happened. At the end of the day we paid $1000.00 for day of coordination and not only was one main wedding detail was not coordinated, but we are out our wedding photography deposit. Bottom line is we hired you for day of coordination and you did not coordinate one of the most important pieces of any wedding! When I think back to my wedding I will fondly remember Stacey doing her best, she too was upset. One of our photos shows my father kneeling in dirt waiting while Stacey tried to figure out what happened with the photographer, which now that this is over I guess is somewhat comical. If you choose to use A&R I highly recommend asking for Stacey personally. The thing with event planning is you have to rely on the experiences of others, so if you choose to use A&R make sure AnnaMarie has her head totally focused on her work.Oct 13, 2017
AnnaMarie was AMAZING. She was so completely helpful and perfect as our day-of coordinator. Everyone that worked with her was impressed with her efficiency, precision and professionalism. She gently guided us through the day and I was able to fully relax and feel that things were being taken care of. My husband is a fairly exacting and organized German and he was so appreciative of the AR Weddings services. Honestly, I could not recommend more. - What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?Every event is not the same. We customize the event to your needs and wants. This way you are not paying for services you do not need .
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?I like to meet my clients in person. This way I can connect with them and get their since of style. I feel that is it really important to meet with your clients and get to know them on a personal level. Weddings are intimate and personal and I feel it is important that everyone gets the wedding of their dreams
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?I have taken many event courses and training as well as experience. I have been in the service industry for over 20+ years and love every minute of it.
