Introduction: Money is not very important to me as I draw social security from all my years in health care. So to me a job well done is much more gratifying than taking home a lot of money. In fact if I am not satisfied with the end result I will walk away without charging anything. I have an innate talent for fixing things first possessed by my grandfather and then my father. I enhanced this genetic trait with tons of schooling. Fixing things and gaining knowledge from an experience are more important to me than anything.

Tom is so resourceful and helpful. I had various projects - a leaking faucet, broken water/ice dispenser on refrigerator, broken dishwasher - Tom has been an all-in-one, figure it out and get it fixed guy. He's also really good company and an all-around stand-out guy. He is quick to respond and efficient. I also learned a lot from him about how things around the house work, and I appreciate his knowledge and problem-solving skills. I would work with him on any repair-related project and highly recommend.

Unfortunately he was unable to do either job I had for him. Although in part was my fault. I didn't have correct brackets. The other was a door lock set that had strange instructions. He tried diligently to get it working. But we ran out of time. However, nicest man you can meet. Pleasant and easy to talk to. He came from quite a distance too. I would try him again :)

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
If the work is local like Santa Cruz county I just ask for $20/ hr and I don't mark up the cost of a part. If I have to travel to San Jose or someplace 25-35 miles away I ask for $20-$25 for gas and the wear on the car.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am always going on the internet as my interest is piqued daily. I am inquisitive always and am always looking for ways to get answers. If it is not the licensed electrician I know it might be the friend who has fixed appliances for 30 years etc.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
When I mowed my grandparent's lawn all summer when I was 12 and only wanted the engine off of their lawnmower in return to build a go-cart I knew I had a flair for the mechanical world.
