We gave a big 40th birthday party for our son and wanted everything to be fantastic for him, our family, and all of our friends. We didn't know what a perfect choice we made when we hired Chef Marcel! We cannot say enough good things about Chef Marcel, his staff, and his wonderful food! The dishes were delicious - inventive and perfectly prepared! To add an extra challenge, Chef Marcel and his top notch sous chefs needed to cook in our kitchen and take food to our community room where we were holding the event. Every single step of the process was flawless and at the end of the evening I would have never known anyone had been in my kitchen! I had a recipe for the bartender I wanted to serve. She tweaked it and made it even tastier! Our guests wrote us the next day and raved about the appetizers, the meal, the yummy desserts, and the service, which was impeccable. The staff was friendly, kind, fun, and terrific at what they do. As most people know who give parties, the personalities of those who provide the service is critical. Every single person who took care of us was absolutely lovely. Chef Marcel was there the whole time. He was constantly vigilant making sure everything was running smoothly. He went out of his way to accommodate some hungry late arrivals. He was definitely in charge, respectful of his staff, gracious, flexible, and devoted to us having a great time! Our experience with Chef Marcel exceeded any expectations we could have possibly had. A million thank yous to him and to his stellar staff!
From start to finish it was a great experience. Carolina is well organized and was in constant contact with me. Chef Boris was a pleasure and service was on point. Food was amazing and we plan on using them in the future. Highly recommend.
The catering staff was amazing and polite. We got one chef, one assistant, one server and one DJ. They arrived on time. Server helped us set up and clean up everything. DJ was great! They did a wonderful job! Price is very reasonable and acceptable. Paid them with extra tips when service is finished. Love the team! Recommend for any events!
The response was quick and efficient so that part I would give 5 stars. The part that I wish was a little more professional was the presentation of the food. We had to ask the chef to describe his food and we had to set our own table, which in the past when we've had personal chefs that was done for us. The halibut was cooked perfectly and we enjoyed our meal very much. The chef was pleasant and you could tell he "loved" what he is doing which is so important. If we ever come back to Terranea we would use the Catering Carnival again.
From the getgo I knew I was dealing with a professional in Marc. I was talking with a few chefs about the 4th of July party I was planning and it was obvious to me that Marc was on it- when I saw his experience running kitchens in NYC, maybe the world's toughest venue, I knew he was the one. His menu was outstanding and he was open to tweaking it ahead of time to suit our tastes and needs. Marc prepared food for our meat eating and our Vegan guests and each dish was clearly marked. When our party metastasized from expected 50 guests to over 300, Marc saved the day by thinking fast on his feet and with a little emergency grocery shopping, ended up having food for all for over 6 hours. The quality of the food really took the party over the top as far as sophistication- we've all had middling to bad food at weddings and other events and it just makes you feel awkward and bad for the host- not the case here. Almost everyone at the party commented on the quality of the food - bold, nuanced flavors but not pretentious. Also, couldn't be a nicer guy. Genuine real deal.
First of all Susan is delightful which is great cause who needs a snarky chef with attitude. On top of that she is a great chef. We asked for an American meat based menu and got the tastiest short rib in a Parmesan crust in individual bowls. I can't wait to use Susan again.
Had a great experience with Executive Chef Mark Kearney and Team. To set expectations before the review, I like to consider myself a food lover...not a critic, just a food lover. I love great dining experiences and am equally critical or disappointed when they fall short. My family and I were hosting Christmas Dinner for a total of 10 family members. I found Chef Mark on Thumbtack based on his previous reviews. Roy (part of Mark's team) promptly reached out with thought-starters for the meal and breakout of pricing. Over the next few weeks Roy, Mark and I worked closely crafting the perfect menu for my traditional Christmas dinner, while staying within my budget parameters. To note, Chef Mark is priced higher than some of the other chefs I was in contact with, but I'm glad we went with Mark based on the outcome. The menu consisted of 4 gourmet hors d oeuvres passed around while we opened presents. A fan favorite was the roasted fig with gorgonzola and prosciutto. Then time for dinner. We sat at the dining table and were served Butternut Ravioli as an appetizer, Lobster Bisque soup (a bit on the spicy side - only critique I have with the food all night) and an organic baby butterleaf salad with incredible apricot balsamic vinaigrette. The main course was both a grilled beef tenderloin (prepared to your liking) and pan roasted turkey breast. Sides that accompanied the main course were brocollini, green beans and bacon/garlic mashed potatoes. Everything (except the soup) was beyond 5 stars in terms of presentation, taste and expectations. Lastly we were served two very decadent and delicious deserts - a molten lava cake and traditional bread pudding. Two things to mention. My wife was forced (by her OBGYN) into a new diet two days prior to the Christmas dinner consisting of no dairy and no soy. When Chef Mark arrived we asked him what had dairy and soy ingredients and he quickly and thoughtfully mentioned that he could make my wife's servings without either dairy or soy. Talk about going above and beyond. This was much appreciated and set the tone for the entire dinner! I would potentially ask for two servers for the evening on future events. One to solely serve as sous chef, helping Mark prepare the food in the kitchen and the other server to help set the table, serve food, wine, etc.. throughout the evening. The 5 hours that Mark and Team allocate for the evening can go quickly. This might alleviate that. Either way, a great experience and thank you Mark and Team!
My company hired Super Food for Super People for a total of 5 days consisting of Breakfast and Lunch. Food was delivered on time, and it was delicious. When I called wanting to change one of the menu options for one of those days they were very cooperative. They also provided chafing dishes after learning that some of the food had gotten cold at no extra charge. Some things they could improve on are providing more options for a menu with different ingredients. I understand that this catering service is Farm to Table, but certain ingredients were repeated too often (sweet potatoes) and people grew tired of them after having them almost every other meal. I take some responsibility on that for having approved the menu. However, I wish the Chef would have advised me differently given her culinary knowledge.
Tonya and her team were incredible! We had a 50 person private party, she worked with me on the perfect menu and provided food and bartending services. They used my outdoor kitchen to fire the food right before serving so it was hot and awesome. Everyone mentioned how great the food was, and most went back for more. The best part of having a caterer is to not have to worry about anything. We never once had to think or worry about anything being ready or right. Thanks!!!
The Traveling Chef exceeded our expectations. The food was delicious and the presentation of it was well done. We actually had leftovers due to generous portion sizes. We will be using him again in the future as well.
Five stars for all for categories. The chicken piccata and trip tip were tender and delicious, and the side dishes were fresh and tasty as well. Aioli dropped off on time in nice dishes. My compliments to the chef!
Chef Alexis was AMAZING! She is a delight & easy to work with, flexible, creative, accommodating, and worked with us on the budget. Then the day of the event went perfectly. Food creation, presentation, pacing, flow, TASTE was wonderful. Her staff are true professionals and made our party a success.

I attended a 16 person dinner for which Steven was the private chef. Overall the food was phenomenal. Presentation and flavors were top notch. Additionally, the staff provided was excellent. Great evening overall, in no small part thanks to Steven.

Carolyn is so easy to work with. Planning parties, family gatherings, and/or holiday festivities can be very stressful, and that’s when you need someone like Carolyn to help you. I’ve had the pleasure of working with her for many parties and her catering have not disappointed me yet. The only reason I didn’t rank her perfect is because I’ve yet tasted all of her specialities. If there was only an option for 10 stars! Chef Shinar was incredibly responsive (we had a very tight deadline). She gave incredible thought to the menu and handled our event with the utmost professionalism. The food was amazing and our clients were incredibly impressed.
We have used Chef Mikey for both meal prep and catering. He is truly a gem. The meals he has prepped are flavorful, good variety and perfectly portioned. The last party Chef Mikey catered for us, he made jerk chicken wings that people couldn’t stop talking about. I’m craving them right now! I would highly recommend him for meal prep, private dinner parties or catering!
