Thank you for the great service! I had a regular team from another company but tried city maid bc it's a little cheaper for the same duration and team of 2. My regular maids were not available and I was in need of cleaning assistance. After my experience with city maid's team I got a better cleaning services with professional cleaning staff I enjoyed in my home and at a lower rate than my original company I used. Although the original company was good.. city maid is much better in all aspects. Highly recommend!

I recently moved to the area and have a very busy schedule so I was looking for a little help keeping my house tidy. I came across Lucy's cleaning service and gave them a call. I left a message with explaining my needs and was quickly contacted back by one of their employees. I was able to schedule complete cleaning services for my home for a lower price than the other companies that I had contacted. The maid service I received was outstanding. The employees were very professional, worked efficiently, and made sure everything was done to my liking. I made sure to set up regular cleaning services with Lucy's. I would highly recommend them if you are in need cleaning services with a company that has great customer service and will make sure the job is done to your specifications.

I am super picky about how clean my house is. I have been looking for a good house-keeping service ever since I moved to the LA area over 2 years ago. After years of going through house-cleaners, I finally found Lety's House Cleaning Services. They cleaned everything in my house from top to bottom, even moving boxes under the bed to make sure all the dust was gone. My house has never been so sparkling clean. I will definitely recommend them to anyone wanting high quality house cleaners.

This is my first time hiring a cleaning service to clean my house because I don't like having strangers in the house. But with my problem right arm, I haven't been able to thoroughly cleaned my bathroom due to harf water stain. Daniel was on time, courteous and professional and listened to my main concern of hard water stain on the shower surround & glass doors that I've been unable to rid with my problem right arm. Much to my delight, I was able to see through the clear glass doors in a little over an hour. I only hired KT's maids to clean the tub & glass doors but Daniel cleaned all the mirrors, wiped the counter and vaccumed as well. I am very happy with the service and highly recommend KT's maids.

The BlueWave Maid crew was over the top amazing. Two women showed up right on time and worked like crazy to get our house spotless. We told them what we wanted them to focus on, and the helped us see all the other areas they could clean. They moved beds, sofas and dressers to clean EVERYTHING. And everything was put right back in place. The other nice thing is that our house doesn't smell like harsh chemicals. They stayed later than needed to make sure our whole house was done to perfection. Most cleaning services work by the hour and are looking to get out. These ladies worked tirelessly for 4 hours. We will defiantly be calling them again for future cleanings.

I hired PRO-MODEL CLEANING SERVICES to clean the bathroom and kitchen of my elderly mother's house after the regular cleaning service said it was way beyond their scope. I was not surprised they felt this way as it was just horrendous! But Alma at PMCS was very understanding of what the situation was and assured me she and her team would make it clean and sparkling again! I cannot tell you how confident I was in my selection of PMCS. And I am THRILLED that they not only rose to the challenge, but cleaned it beyond what I thought would be possible! My sister saw the Before and After pictures Alma provided and said she wants to hire them to clean her house too! What better testimony could there be? PMCS was a pleasure to work with and I would hire them again any time I need the highest level of cleaning performed! They are FANTASTIC!

Jesus helped us clean a warehouse in Walnut, CA. He was responsive, courteous, punctual, and took his time to explain to me what the job would entail. He went above and beyond his duty by even moving our warehouse material to facilitate his cleaning. I high recommend Jesus to anyone. He's also flexible with many other tasks. Thanks!

Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

How much do you pay for house cleaning?

Hiring a professional house cleaning service is a helpful way to have a healthy home even when your work and personal schedule is packed. House cleaning prices vary based on how many square feet your home is, how dirty your house gets, and how often the cleaning service comes. Some companies charge a set amount — such as 5 cents — per square foot, with a minimum amount, such as $100. The national average cost for house cleaning ranges between $110 and $150. Prices can be lower in areas with a lower cost of living, higher in big cities or affluent regions. You may save money by increasing the frequency of your house cleaning visits. Often a company will charge you less per cleaning when you schedule more cleanings per month. The cost advantage rewards your loyalty, and also reflects the fact that more frequent cleanings make it easier to maintain a high level of cleanliness in your home. A housecleaning service may charge more for the first visit or for one-time services than for recurring cleanings.

Do you need to clean your air ducts?

Air duct cleaning is done by heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) professionals. The pros use industrial-strength, truck-mounted vacuums and powerful brushes and hoses to clean inside the metal ducts that make up your forced air heating and cooling system. The Environmental Protection Agency recommends duct cleaning if there is “substantial visible mold growth inside hard surface ducts, ducts that are infested with vermin such as rodents or insects, or ducts that are clogged with excessive amounts of dust and debris and/or particles are actually released into the home from your supply registers.”

You should also have air ducts cleaned after recent water contamination or water damage to prevent mold; after renovations or remodeling to ensure debris and dust didn’t settle in the vents and ducts; if you are having problems with allergies or asthma; or when you are moving into a newly purchased home, especially if the previous owners smoked or had pets. The National Air Duct Cleaners Association (NADCA) recommends getting your air ducts cleaned every three to five years, or every two to three years in regions where homeowners use their air conditioning and heater for many months of the year, while the EPA suggests homeowners have duct cleaning done as needed.

How often should you get your air ducts cleaned?

How often you should clean your air ducts depends on your situation. If you or someone in the home has asthma or is acutely allergic to certain airborne materials or pollen, regular duct cleaning may be helpful. The Environmental Protection Agency doesn’t have an official position on the necessity of air duct cleaning unless the ducts have been contaminated by rodents, insects or mold, or you are aware of particles blowing out through the vents. The EPA recommends you have your air ducts cleaned on an as-needed basis. The National Air Duct Cleaners Association (NADCA) suggests having air ducts cleaned every three to five years.

Be cautious with companies that offer “whole house air duct cleaning,” urges the NADCA. The company may be using unscrupulous tactics to upsell you once they get started. Before any work begins, always clarify in writing what the job entails and what the cost will be. To protect yourself against fraud, read customer reviews and verify that your HVAC cleaning service has applicable licenses and certifications.

How much does it cost to deep clean a house?

Deep cleaning a house goes beyond the surface level to clear out the dust, grime and gunk that’s collecting on the fan blades, hiding in the blinds, and built up inside the refrigerator drawers. Deep cleaning of a home or apartment costs more than regular house cleaning because it takes more time, effort, and cleaning products. You may choose to have a deep cleaning once or several times a year in addition to your standard cleaning services. You may have a one-time deep cleaning to prepare for company or to clean after a house party. Companies may charge an hourly rate or a price per square foot, or may offer you a flat rate after they have visited your home and estimated work time. The national average house cleaning price is $110-$150, with rates ranging higher for deep-cleaning services. Here are some examples of how a company may calculate their deep-cleaning prices:

  • 10 cents per square foot (compared with 5 cents per square foot for standard house cleaning).
  • $300 for a 3,000-square-foot home.
  • $25 per hour per worker for deep-cleaning services.

How much does it cost to replace air ducts in a house?

If your air ducts have been damaged, you’ll need to replace them. The national average air duct replacement cost is $150-$280, which may not include materials. Factors such as duct material, labor, location of ducts and linear feet of ductwork will all affect your final costs. Labor costs will vary based on how accessible the ducts are and what material your ducts are made of. The least expensive duct material is a flexible, non-metallic ducting that costs approximately $1-$2 per linear foot. Flexible aluminum is generally more expensive and stronger than non-metallic ducting. Stainless steel ducting is the strongest, the least flexible (meaning installing it typically has higher labor rates), and usually the most expensive. An average price for air duct replacement could range between $35 and $55 per linear foot, including basic materials and labor. A typical single-family home has 6-10 duct runs; replacing or installing one duct run could average $150-$250 for labor.
