Being an athlete my entire life I have had many coaches, personal trainers, and workout experiences. The workouts OJ from One Body has designed to meet my workout goals have been extremely challenging and a perfect addition to my current workout regiment. I am impressed by his professionalism and consistent communication with me in order to assist me in reaching my goals.
I had my doubts about getting marriage counseling, but when I started going to Michelle she proved to me how helpful it really is. So much that I think every young couple needs coaching in order to avoid serious relationship issues in the future. With her loving sidekick/spouse helping out, it provides a male and female aspect of each situation that comes up. Overall, Michelle is a great, caring person that will provide you with positive energy, motivation, and useful resources for life (not just marriage counseling). Coaching or no coaching, it's always nice to be blessed with the presence of such a person in your lifetime.
I am currently working with Jobi. I haven't worked with a personal trainer before often thinking that they were somewhat over rated. However after meeting with Jobi and speaking with him about fitness goals I knew I found the right guy for the job. He does what he can in regards to scheduling and seeing what works best for you and truly puts his clients needs first. I am looking to the end result of my time with Jobi.
Eric is a great coach. His training is one of the best and I have become a way much better athlete all around ever since I started with him.
I've been working with Gabriel at DeVine Physiques for a little over 2 months now. Having been senior editor for a personal-training and group-fitness training magazine in years passed, I had some definite criteria in mind when looking for someone to help me overcome my difficulties with diet-plan adherence and learning quintessential moves that I was afraid to try due to injury potential if performed incorrectly. Upon meeting Gabriel for our free consultation, we reviewed my history with diet, exercise and past injuries, as well as my current goals vs. efforts I'd tried on my own to reach them. He asked the right questions, but more importantly he let me talk about these topics in-depth when needed and actively listened. He did not have a cookie-cutter approach in mind... he was looking for ways to optimize a plan to promote diet/exercise-program adherence and injury prevention relative to my goals with a conscious consideration as to my physical characteristics and limitations at that time (flexibility limits, minor chiropractic concerns, native structural particulars such as being bow-legged, flat-footed, etc.). The plan I brought to the table was "burn and build": start with a goal of losing 25 pounds (cutting), per the suggestion of my physician ... and then shift gears to building muscle on top of that new leaner frame (bulking) --- with cycles of both going forward from there. Gabriel worked with me to develop that idea into action. He advised me re: the importance of tracking calories and made suggestions as to apps that could be leveraged to aide in that often-tedious endeavor. He set me up with his customized trainer/client app and I connected MyFitnessPal to it to funnel data re: my daily nutritional and hydration tracking to him. We've started with two 50-minute workout sessions per week for now. Our goal has been to keep me below 2,000 calories per day... and his strong suggestion (not mandate, mind you... very important) to track everything has opened my eyes as to the caloric and nutritional content of everything I *was* eating (holy crap!) and have currently shifted to eating (oh thank God!). Coupled with drinking at least 96 oz. of water per day (also tracked) to help keep the body hydrated and aide with hunger as my body adjusted to the caloric reduction, my prior junk-food habit/addiction has gone away --- which, as I write this, had not fully hit me re: how big of a deal that really is. I haven't thought of a soda or French fries, etc., in quite some time... instead, I've been trying to figure out just how many ounces of chicken breast are on my plate at XYZ restaurant so I can get an accurate calorie figure for my tracking. ;-) The physical results have been *much* more than I initially expected. In roughly 2 months I've gone from 225 pounds at 5'11" to 204, and now we're looking at what to do once I hit my 200-pound goal. The current verdict is to go for another 10 pounds and see where I land and how I feel before shifting gears to more-intense focus on building/bulking. My cardio efficiency has increased greatly, as I no longer feel like I'm going to fall over going up and down flights of stairs. And whereas I was wearing XL shirts when I walked in the door, I recently shifted to L for the first time in a very long while. I've actually started to look forward to shopping for new clothes and don't dread going into fitting rooms and facing the mirror --- even the ones with horrible lighting. LOL For me, the key to success has been a combination of really wanting to do this coupled with Gabriel's friendly, positive reinforcement. He always points out when I've broken through barriers in my workouts with him, and has schooled me in very understandable terms re: basic anatomy, form, how things such as sitting and driving affect our flexibility and posture over time, etc. Gabriel's never mandated I do anything... instead, he's *encouraged* food tracking, hydration, caloric reduction, showing up for all our sessions, etc., couching those actions as being the bedrock for achieving the goals that *I* walked in the door with. The responsibility lies with *me* to do the work in the exercise programming he sets up for each session as well as the between-sessions work (which is actually *more* important in the long run). His welcoming, friendly, encouraging advisement regarding form and function as we work together in those sessions helps me keep moving forward progressively, efficiently and safely. We developed an easy rapport quite quickly, but Gabriel's very good about keeping us on task ... all while allowing me to catch my breath and regroup between sets or cardio sprints. There is no militaristic aggressive "go go go!!!" kind of atmosphere, but rather a "when you're ready... you've got this... you can and will because you are" approach to gently psyching me up when I might be feeling a bit of a dip in my gas tank. And when I'm actually lifting -- particularly if we're escalating weight to a new level -- he knows when to turn on a little-bit-more-"cheerleader" type of encouragement to help me push through... again, though, all centered on the idea that this is *me* working through *this moment* aiming for completion of *this movement* while being able to trust that he's there to help me make adjustments for optimal safe execution and spot me should I run into an exertion failure --- which is pretty rare, given his method of having rebuilt and reinforced the infrastructure of my core, lower back and legs with moves that I always wanted to try but was scared to do (deadlifts, in particular). He's walked me through those learning curves and longstanding hesitation to the other side where I'm much more confident and actually making marked progress in form + how much weight I can lift. I'm doing things at 43 years of age that I'd always been scared to do. If this has been my experience at the 2-month mark of working with Gabriel, I can't imagine where we'll be at the 4-month mark... or the 6-month mark! This has definitely been one of the most important and positive investments I've made in myself, and definitely the most physical-fitness progress I've made all around since having worked with a personal-trainer roommate who schooled me on basics in my mid-20s. The body usually changes quickly in your 20s, and I was afraid that I'd have a slow tedious climb in my 40s... but Gabriel's coaching (and my diligence; very important factor) have made that climb much faster and fulfilling than I thought would be possible. I look better. I feel better. I eat better. I move better. I *am* better. Other people have noticed ... and *I* have noticed -- not just on the surface, but inside as well -- and I want to keep moving forward to see what working with Gabriel holds in store around the bend.
Gil is a gifted personal trainer. He is well trained and experienced and very intuitive about what his clients need. Not only that, he is personable, creative, patient and a lot of fun. Two years ago my now 97-year-old mother-in-law could hardly get out of a chair by herself. After working with Gil she was able to walk well with a walker in a very short time. She now can go up and down a flight of stairs (important in an emergency). Her balance and strenghth are improved and she is really proud of herself and more confident. He has greatly improved her posture and stamina. He also taught her how to fall and how to get up off the floor. In the beginning she had no interest in doing anything like this. However, after a short time she began to really look forward to working out with him. After all, some of his balance and strength exercises are done by dancing with Glenn Miller in the background! She now loves to brag that she has a personal trainer. We have referred many people to Gil and highly recommend him.
If you're like me, you're reading this wondering if you should take the plunge. While each situation is unique, I gotta say... DO IT! If you have the means and could use guidance in any aspect of your life, absolutely dive in. Fawn is incredible. I've been working with her for over a month now and I've seen so many significant changes in my life, changes that wouldn't have been possible without Fawn's support and knowledge. I contacted Fawn when I decided I needed a more hands on approach to improving my outlook and my habits. What I've achieved in my short time with her is far greater than I ever expected. I come away from our sessions more positive, more motivated, and refreshed. Her meticulous handling of each session, her ability to listen with an intent to understand, her check-ins, and her resource sharing is so intuitive. She knows because she's been there. Her scheduling system is wonderfully easy, which is especially helpful when dealing with different time zones. She utilizes Google Docs for session notes, which I love! I can carry my progress in my pocket. Fawn does an amazing job laying out a path at the beginning of coaching, but she also knows when to make adjustments. Much like life, you can only prepare so much before you have to simply run with what you've been given. I love that each conversation feels like catching up with a wise friend I've known for years, all while aspects of my goals are starting to fall into place. I'm incorporating her suggested action items in a way I've never been able to do before: effortlessly and optimistically. I'm gushing, but so what? One thing we touch on so often--and for good reason--is gratitude. I'm so grateful to have found Fawn and I can't wait to see where the remainder of our sessions lead.
Megan is not kidding! She has been great and world class trainer. I was really impressed by her optimized knowledge of fitness and professionalism and with her coaching skills and confidence building to customers so they can give more and more to achieve their maximum potential 👍
Corey has been a very helpful personal trainer since we worked together. My fitness goal is to gain weight and increase strength and I saw very steady and constant improvements along the way. Looking forward to making more progress with him in the future!
Both Judy and Frank are outstanding! They have pushed me to where I never though I could ever be within just 5 weeks. I have lost over 55 lbs in less than 6 months due to their expert personal training. Destination Workouts have changed my life for the better, and went well beyond my expectations. Judy truly cares and pushes my limits with her positive enthusiasm. 100% recommended, you will not regret it!
First off I just want to congratulate Jen for the amazing job she has done putting her business together. About 3 years ago I came in contact with Jen through a mutual friend. After talking to Jen a few times online and on the phone I knew right away that Jen was very kind, thoughtful and extremely knowledgeable with fitness & nutrition With over 25 years of experience in powerlifting, Olympic lifting and as a strength conditioning coach I always told myself that I would never hire a personal trainer. In my mind I thought that I knew more than enough. About 2 years ago I had to have emergency surgery on my neck. I split the disc between C5 and C6 completely in half. After the surgery I was confined to a recliner for about six weeks. Over those six weeks I watched all my gains and my health go to hell. I was in a very dark place and didn't know how or where to start. That's when I remembered all the conversations that I've had with Jen in the past. I decided to give Jen a call and she was more than willing to help me. One of the first things I noticed about Jen is that she is not one of these .com trainers that puts programs together off of someone else's idea. With Jen, you will get a customized program that meets both your fitnes and your nutritional goals to get you looking and feeling your best. After completing a five month program that Jen put together for me, I feel and look better than I have in 20 years. I'm actually so inspired that next year at this time I will be competing in my first physique competition. I can't wait to see what Jen has planned for me over the next 12 months. Again I would like to thank Jen for everything that she has done for me. If you are somebody that is reading this review in the efforts to find the right personal trainer for you look no farther than Jen.
Chad's style of massage was perfect for what I needed. I have been having back and neck problems for a while now and he intuitively knew where he needed to focus on without me even telling him where it hurt the most. He covered all the major and minor muscle groups and did so at the perfect level of pressure for me. I need a 10 out of 10 pressure-wise and he fulfilled that and more. He's is the first masseur I have ever had who was able to do that, so I was pleasantly surprised. His space is clean and well put together. His music was nice and relaxing. The hot towels he had were amazing. I felt like I was at a high-end spa. I will definitely be back for more.
If you're looking for a personal trainer, Vanesa is the way to go! She is dedicated to getting you to reach your fitness goals; whether thats shedding pounds, gaining muscle, or having the strength to do other activities (I can say this because these were all my goals). I've never had an unanswered question (about workouts, food, pain, etc ) or a missed session. She has been super accommodating to my schedule and previous injury. Anytime I would feel pain somewhere in my body she would give me advice on what to do, which has always fixed the problem. She has a positive adittude and will push you when you want to give up or are tired; she gets you to the place you want to be. I don't know what more you can ask for in a trainer. In the 3 months I've been with her, I have gotten compliments left and right, my energy levels have increased significantly, and most importantly I feel confident in my own skin again. I don't know what more you can ask for in a trainer. #teamsuazo
Charlie is an AMAZING personal trainer!!! His wealth of knowledge and experience far surpasses anyone I have ever worked with before. He really loves training people and truly cares about his clients. His main motivation is helping people become their best selves. I'm so glad I found you, Charlie!!! Maureen M.
i have been working with Rose for close to year. when i submitted my quote request, she was the only individual of the 5 responders that actually took the time to read the request and respond specifically. all of the others submitted automatic responses. i have fibromyalgia and, 3 months after i began working with Rose, was diagnosed with stage 1 breast cancer. the fibro is a nightmare & the bc surgery & treatment has made it 10 times worse. if not for Rose's work, i truly believe i would have lost my livelihood and gone underwater in my life. she has not only strengthened my body, but is well-versed in nutrition and has guided me towards major changes in my diet that enable me to cope with my illnesses. friends, she saved my life. if you're seeking a non-self-absorbed personal trainer who knows her stuff and is deeply serious about health, she's the one for you.
Kelly helped me get into shape right before I became pregnant. She helped me focus on a work-out plan that fit well with my goals and what I wanted to achieve. She also customized a monthly meal plan exclusively for me and my interests. I couldn't be more happy with her dedication to push me when I needed the drill sergeant trainer, but also balance it out and be supportive when I was not feeling well or sick and needed to take things slow. Another plus factor with Kelly is that she LOVES dogs. We incorporated workouts that helped me focus on myself, without feeling guilty or losing out on time I could spend with my dog outdoors. Kelly is super professional, educated and experienced in personal training. I would recommend her to any of my closest family and friends.
Jeremy is extremely knowledgeable in the field of health and fitness, he has a degree & several certifications! He took the time to roll out my tight muscles so that I would be in alignment for my workout. Jeremy is fun & personable as well making the sessions extremely enjoyable! Also, I’m getting great results! I highly recommend Jeremy Zarghami with Lion Heart Athletics!!
I met Florence when I researched the web for private yoga lessons. Large group settings were not working for me, so I wanted something more personal. It was the 2nd best decision I've made in 2015. Florence is extremely professional, dedicated, expert in her area and strives to help make a positive impact in your life. She customizes every yoga and life coaching lesson to address my specific health needs and in the few months I've been working with her, I've achieved so much. I've lost weight (she provides wonderful recipes) and my balance has improved both physically and mentally. Every week I get excited to see her as I know, I'll learn something new that will have a long-lasting impact in my life. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND Florence to anyone who is serious about making a positive change in their life through yoga/meditation and life coaching. SHE IS WORK EVERY PENNY.
David has been coaching me now for 16 weeks for 2 Mens Physique competitions, where I was able to place top 5. He is really knowledgeable in both nutrition and exercise and knows what works for an individual. He really values and cares about his clients goals and is motivational. I highly recommend David as a trainer/coach!
• I have been to several therapists in the past and am usually very skeptical of life coaching and therapy When I began phone sessions with Grace, she was able to help me discover what was really at the bottom of my concerns and how I viewed the world. She gave me guidance to start me on a journey of self introspection. Grace very quickly helped me feel that the road to self-development and happiness is a rewarding one in which I have a trustworthy ally. She helped me understand my needs for stability, become successful in my home and personal life and I have become a stronger person because of her. I highly recommend Grace.
Alex is an awesome Personal Trainer. He is very effective, attentive, and listens to what my needs are as a client. Thank you Alex!
