On 12-17-15, the Employees' Union of the State Bar of California hired Chef Marcel for our Holiday Luncheon. Chef Marcel and his staff came on time, set up quickly, and were very professional. The food was delicious and they were able to serve over 100 employees in less than an hour, and clean up and pack up quickly. Our luncheon was a huge success! I have received nothing but positive comments from my Union members. I highly recommend Chef Marcel and we will definitely use his services again! Great service, excellent food, outstanding communication and much more added value than expected. We hired Gourmet Lovers Catering and Cakes for our wedding reception in Laguna Beach on 10-15-16. We had a 3 months window to plan the wedding from out of town and Carolina made sure all our vendor needs from rentals to reception food to our wedding cake was taken care of. She communicated often and made sure we got what we wanted. Chef Boris and his team the day of the reception were a pleasure to be around. The food was authentic (Soft Tacos)and DELICIOUS! Directly from our guest “you hit a home run with the food”, “best wedding food, ever”, “I went back 3 times!”. Our servers Gustavo and Sophia were very accommodating and always made sure ALL guest were taken care of. Highly recommend using Gourmet Lovers Catering and Cakes for any event!!
THANK YOU, Zen Craft for an incredible event last night. My partner and I cannot express enough how seamlessly delightful the entire experience working with Zen Craft has been (from bidding process, to phone consult w/ Michael, to follow-up w/ Barrett, to day-of execution, the incredible service of Chef Eric and our server Dennis, and of course the delicious FOOD). We wanted to express that our server Dennis went completely ABOVE and BEYOND the entire night. In addition to our catered order, we purchased some snacks on our own; cheeses, crackers, chips, dips, etc. At the final minutes of setup, Dennis stepped in and plated all the snacks (and there were a lot) beautifully and refilled it throughout the night. He also pitched in when our housekeeper was 'in the weeds' with trash and bussing glassware all while he continued to serve Chef Eric's delicious and gorgeous food. The party would not have been the immense success it was without his efforts.
My husband and I hired Madkins catering for a family weekend in the desert (La Quinta). We requested a bbq for the first night, and an early Easter dinner for the second night. I expected the meals to be good but not great (I haven’t really had an excellent catering experience). However, the meals were OUTSTANDING. Chef Aviarie is truly talented, and our entire family and guests talked about the interesting flavors and quality of the food. I still can’t get over how Chef Aviarie and Frank prepared everything from scratch in our kitchen in just a few hours! We requested a hefty amount of dishes, and they pulled it off without a sweat! The team is incredibly kind, professional and a pleasure to have cooking in our kitchen. They even managed to entertain our 6 year old nephew while they were cooking. I should also note their rates are very reasonable! I can’t say enough good things about our experience. I am happy to serve as a personal reference in case anyone wants my feedback. Thank goodness for chefs like Mark who cook the way you want, and need, to eat when the last thing you want to do is cook for yourself when you're ill. I'm so greatful to have been introduced to him when I needed it the most. Mark is a great guy who cares about your healing. He's prepared the most healthy and delicious dishes. He'll work with you so that every dish delivered is what you like. And his selection is so broad that you won't eat the same thing again and again. Though some times you'll wish you did!
The response was quick and efficient so that part I would give 5 stars. The part that I wish was a little more professional was the presentation of the food. We had to ask the chef to describe his food and we had to set our own table, which in the past when we've had personal chefs that was done for us. The halibut was cooked perfectly and we enjoyed our meal very much. The chef was pleasant and you could tell he "loved" what he is doing which is so important. If we ever come back to Terranea we would use the Catering Carnival again.
I loved working with Susan Kowalski from Wild Thyme Catering. She was professional, helpful, positive, and personable. At the last minute, I decided to throw my husband a surprise birthday dinner for 8 people. I wanted to try something new and have a chef prepare dinner in our home. Susan was able to work with the short time frame and within our budget. She listened to what I said my husband would like and helped me put together a fabulous menu. The food was outstanding and exactly what we talked about. Everyone had a great meal and an awesome time. I definitely recommend Susan, and hope to have her back sometime in the near future.
Had a great experience with Executive Chef Mark Kearney and Team. To set expectations before the review, I like to consider myself a food lover...not a critic, just a food lover. I love great dining experiences and am equally critical or disappointed when they fall short. My family and I were hosting Christmas Dinner for a total of 10 family members. I found Chef Mark on Thumbtack based on his previous reviews. Roy (part of Mark's team) promptly reached out with thought-starters for the meal and breakout of pricing. Over the next few weeks Roy, Mark and I worked closely crafting the perfect menu for my traditional Christmas dinner, while staying within my budget parameters. To note, Chef Mark is priced higher than some of the other chefs I was in contact with, but I'm glad we went with Mark based on the outcome. The menu consisted of 4 gourmet hors d oeuvres passed around while we opened presents. A fan favorite was the roasted fig with gorgonzola and prosciutto. Then time for dinner. We sat at the dining table and were served Butternut Ravioli as an appetizer, Lobster Bisque soup (a bit on the spicy side - only critique I have with the food all night) and an organic baby butterleaf salad with incredible apricot balsamic vinaigrette. The main course was both a grilled beef tenderloin (prepared to your liking) and pan roasted turkey breast. Sides that accompanied the main course were brocollini, green beans and bacon/garlic mashed potatoes. Everything (except the soup) was beyond 5 stars in terms of presentation, taste and expectations. Lastly we were served two very decadent and delicious deserts - a molten lava cake and traditional bread pudding. Two things to mention. My wife was forced (by her OBGYN) into a new diet two days prior to the Christmas dinner consisting of no dairy and no soy. When Chef Mark arrived we asked him what had dairy and soy ingredients and he quickly and thoughtfully mentioned that he could make my wife's servings without either dairy or soy. Talk about going above and beyond. This was much appreciated and set the tone for the entire dinner! I would potentially ask for two servers for the evening on future events. One to solely serve as sous chef, helping Mark prepare the food in the kitchen and the other server to help set the table, serve food, wine, etc.. throughout the evening. The 5 hours that Mark and Team allocate for the evening can go quickly. This might alleviate that. Either way, a great experience and thank you Mark and Team!
I hired Sierra Madre Catering for my husband's 40th birthday party held at my home. The set up process was so easy, they were so accommodating with the menu I wanted (even though it included fried foods and philly cheese steak sandwiches which are hard to make on-site). The moment they got to my house, Tonya and her chefs were so professional, speedy, on top of it all! They made my night so much easier and fun and I finally got to enjoy my own party for once! They left my house very neat like my kitchen was never used! They picked up after my guests throughout the night. My favorites were inside-out Philly cheese steak, pulled pork sliders, mac & cheese, potstickers and garlic fries. Thank you and looking forward to seeing you again!
I was extremely delighted with Chef Ana and her team and all that they brought to the table - literally and figuratively. We found ourselves in a tight spot with no caterer on a commercial shoot all the way out in Ventura the day before the shoot, and From The Grill answered the call and got the job done for us at the very last minute and at a price that stayed within our budget. The food was delicious and the crew were all satisfied and happy. My production team got the props from the crew, but we know the props belong to Chef Ana and her team at From The Grill and couldn't be more grateful for their jumping aboard in crunch time and coming through!
Jordan is an excellent chef and caterer. He produces food that is way beyond the standard catering services. If you want cookie cutter catering go with someone else. If you want really great food at a great price stop on by or use his catering.
Chantel was amazing for our wedding this weekend. She took us on with only having about a months notice and delivered everything beautifully. We trusted her, as not being local to the area we only communicated through email and had no tastings. We loved the cake, it was delish and the cupcakes and pops were yummy and fun as well. She delivered on time, and set up everything to be beautiful. Thank you so much for your service for our special day.
AMAZING doesn't even come close to the experience we had with WeHo. WeHo's owner and chef prepared a delicious spread for our wedding reception. We interviewed several caterer's but was so impressed with Peter and his passion for food. He worked with our budget and found creative ways to give us more bang for our buck. In addition to his food he made an out of this world Sangria Bar that our guests loved. Peter and his team were a perfect blend of professional and personable. We will definitely hire WeHo again for future events, as will our guests (they were a hit!). No lie, a week later my mom was still talking about the food. That says something. Thanks Peter and the WeHo team.
Aline is a fantastic chef and a terrific teacher. I loved my first cooking lesson with her, during which we focused on improving my knife skills (I'm traditionally terrified at the thought of chopping herbs and veggies). We made a full meal consisting of lemon garlic chicken, roasted sweet potato and veggies, and a quinoa curry salad. Delicious! Aline is great at making the lesson highly personalized and focusing on skills and knowledge that will benefit me in the long run as well. I have several issues with digestion and intestinal health, so Aline adjusted recipes accordingly and gave me plenty of tips to help ease my stomach problems with proper nutrition. As a first-time cook I was proud of the final meal, and I learned several invaluable tips. I'll certainly be taking another lesson with Aline soon. She's the best!
On Feb 1, 2018, Chef Amy performed her private chef services at my girlfriend’s birthday party with our teenage daughter. Amy curated a delicious 5-course menu based on our favorites. She prepared the food in new fun beautiful ways. Amy was funny, approachable and professional. She brought all needed cooking and serving ware. She cooked and cleaned up everything. Amy explained and presented every course of the meal and prepared unique never seen before drinks that were a huge hit! The food portions in each course were just right and completely filling. Amy clearly loves cooking and enjoys interacting with clients. Amy was sooo good by evenings end that we were singing to our throw-back music playlist and hugging her goodbye with anticipation of a future event. I definitely plan to hire Amy many more times in the future. HIGHLY RECOMMEND- 5 STARS
Acacia has catered private events for me and been the head chef at a former restaurant i used to bartend at. She is always professional and provides excellent food!
