Introduction: As resident building manager I devote myself to keeping the tenants happy. I am available 24/7. I tell the tenants they are free to wake me in the wee hours of the morning if they have an emergency, which includes being locked out of their units. And I do not mind doing any extras for them, like changing bulbs in their units, or getting rid of a spider, etc. Dedicating myself to the tenants and property owner gives me the feeling of accomplishment. In my current manager position I get along with all the tenants. This makes for a relaxed community and a well-run building.

I visited Phillip over the years that managed the apt building. And I recall saying "how took care of the building as. If he owned it. His concern and caring is outstanding and has always impressed me in every thing that he does.

Phillip has taken on the full responsibility of apartment management. His tasks are numerous and varied. He collects the monthly rents, oversees vendors, maintains the curb appeal, does many of the simple repair tasks (clearing clogged drains, etc.), and is always available to help the tenants. We highly recommend Phillip Frey to you. He will be an asset to you as an on-site manager.

FAQs

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

14 consecutive years of experience as a resident building manager.

  • How did you get started doing this type of work?

14 years ago, as a regular tenant, before I became resident manager of the building, the property owner and I got along well. He asked if I would like a reduction in rent if I would show vacancies. After a couple of years of providing the service, I was asked if I wanted to manage. I gladly accepted the opportunity. After 12 years on the job, the building was sold to a developer who needed to demolish the building. All we tenants had to relocate. I relocated to the position of resident manager of a 60-unit building in the 90046 area.

  • What types of customers have you worked with?

When it comes to showing vacancies I have been fortunate to have recommended good tenancy choices to the property owner. It has something to do with feeling out a person's character and following up by researching their histories. I have always worked well with vendors, such as plumbers, electricians, painters, etc. Though I do attempt to solve repair problems before calling for professional help.
