The ISA code of ethics dictates that healthy trees should never be spiked but should rather be climbed using ropes. Rather than top a clients tree, I take the time to educate them to the dangers of topping and offer them options. I also believe in providing a thorough cleanup and respecting clients and their property. My goal for each cleanup is for not one leaf or stick to be left. Also, I make sure clients know when I am coming to their property and I take the time to work carefully to eliminate damage to property . It is very satisfying to provide clients with the information they need to make informed decisions and then to put those decisions into action. It?s easy to simply tell a client what needs to be done but it is something very different to educate them as to why. The hard work, which is a reality of this business, is worth it when I can stand back after a long days work and see healthy and beautiful trees. Additionally, I truly love being outdoors and working with trees, not only caring for them, but spending time climbing throughout the canopy. Not many people get to see the world from the top of a 90 foot ash tree or get the chance to appreciate how massive an ancient oak tree truly is. Also, it doesn?t hurt to get all the exercise I can handle while on the job!
