Introduction: My name is Joshua Zabatta. I'm a voice instructor, piano instructor, and piano technician residing in the Denver, CO area (specifically Arvada, CO). I have roughly 18 years of experience teaching and performing professionally. I offer lessons primarily online but can accommodate students at my studio or in their homes. For travel lessons, I can travel to students throughout the West Denver area. Students in my studio feel confident and empowered while also getting a solid education. Most importantly, they have a great time while doing so! I teach a wide variety of ages, but focus my attention more on students that are Middle School through Adult. While my foundation is classical in nature, I have lots of experience teaching in other styles, such as Jazz, Rock, Musical Theater, Blues, and Gospel. The main focus is building a strong foundation, and then applying style to the work you've done. Through my method, students get a great education while also learning and performing music they love! My program also offers the student an education in music theory with options to pursue composition (song writing). Since I teach both Singing and Piano Lessons, I have several students that pursue song writing.
Three traits of a lesson from Zabatta Music Studio are:
1. FUN: I want my students to have fun in their lessons and in any of their musical pursuits.
2. AVANTI: This word means to move forward. I want my students to be dedicated and always move forward so they can accomplish their goals.
3. EMPOWERMENT: My personal mission statement is to empower others. I want to help my students become more confident in themselves as they develop and share their musical gifts.
If you're wanting to get the tools you need to move forward with your singing and/or playing, please contact me to set up an introductory lesson. From there, I can suggest and enact a plan of action that will help you achieve your musical goals. Achievements from this studio include: producing successful musical theatre auditions resulting in mainstage casting, having multiple students chosen for All-State Choir during consecutive years, giving students tools they need to be accepted into college music programs of their choice, and more. Whether more serious in nature or more of a fun pursuit, let's talk about how I can help you take the next step.
*Regarding piano tuning, I've been a Certified Piano Technician for nearly 4 years and have serviced a wide variety of pianos in Colorado as well as up in Montana during that time. I completed my training with the Piano Technician Academy based out of Arizona. In rural areas, a piano tuner can be difficult to find. With that in mind, the focus of my piano tuning work is making sure clients have access to a good quality piano regardless of background and location. I typically charge around $120 for piano tuning and maintenance, and I add a travel fee when the service is outside a 10 mile radius.
