FAQs
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am a member of Associated Skin Care Professionals, and consistently do webinar training through their establishment. I also check regularly with local and national Esthetic schools, to see what the latest training is being offered to Estheticians for continuing education. I subscribe to several Esthetic Magazines and Periodicals that keeps me inform of current trends, training and products in my field.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I started working as a Makeup Artist and Esthetician because I grew up feeling unattractive as a freckled face redhead. Always being teased as a young girl, I wanted to look and feel beautiful, like the models in the Magazines my mom had. Also, I grew up watching my mother struggle with cystic acne, spending hours infront of a mirror, picking at her face to get rid of the cysts, (only to leave scars later). I love what I do because I get to make other women feel beautiful and help them learn to take care of their skin. Beauty comes from within, but should reflect on the outside as well.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
I mostly provide Makeup Application for special occasions, Weddings, and Photo shoots. I help women take care of their adult onset acne issues through Microderm, facials and teaching them at home care. My plan is to also reach out to teenagers, to teach them good home care routines to learn to manage their acne concerns.
