Ronda scheduled us quickly and at a date/time that worked for us. Mike did a great job explaining the cleaning process and the carpets look great. We had our tile floor and grout cleaned also and it looks good as well. Love the fact that the carpets are not wet afterward. One week later and no spots coming out. Worth the money for sure. We will use Magic Dry again in the future!

Vince was very professional and worked hard at getting our carpets cleaned. He was great about explaining the cleaning process and worked very hard at getting them clean. We had a wrinkle in our upstairs carpet, which was not from the cleaning but from the original installation. Vince scheduled a return visit to address those concerns. I will use him again and will tell my friends and family!!

Marc was prompt in his bid and responding to my questions. He communicates with text and voice mail. Marc came up to Evergreen to clean my dirty VCT tiled floor to make it presentable for selling. He did a fantastic job and his final cost was exactly what he bid. No hidden costs or last minute increases. He was professional, reliable and honest. Marc's estimate was HALF the cost of other bids! I would recommend him to others and would use MSC again without hesitation. Thank you Marc for helping us with this project and helping us make our commercial property look good.

John and Christine arrived at exactly the time that was scheduled and proceeded to explain the process they would use to clean my tile floors. The tile was installed 20 years ago and had never been professionally cleaned (YUCK!). I was amazed how great my floors looked when they completed the job. They were also very careful of my furnishings and protected the carpet ajacent to the tile. I will definitely call them again (in less than 20 years) and also recommend Genesis to everyone for their tile and/or carpet cleaning needs.

Mountain Home Remodeler performed demolition services and installed the hard wood floor and backsplash, among other things. The work was performed at a high quality level and Jim went above and beyond by assisting with other smaller projects not part of the contract. The only criticism would be a matter of setting expectations regarding the length of the project.

Tiling area at was part of a deck now converted into a sunroom. Work included tiling stairs that access the lower level of the sunroom. The work was very difficult because the builder was not precise in the dimensions of the stairs. Daniel and his assistant Scott were meticulous in getting the tile set evenly. The results are outstanding. Took longer than expected, but that was due to the difficult stair area. The post cleanup was done very well...the work area was left ad clean as it was before work and cutting began

Joe put in floor and shower tiles in 3 of my bathrooms and laid hardwood floors in my living room. He is very detailed and does great work. I would highly recommend Joe for any project you might have. For the price and quality of work he can't be beat. Every stage of he way Joe kept me Informed and raised concerns when necessary. Joe is not a person to cut corners so if it's quality and a job done right, you couldn't make a better choice.

We love this company! We wanted our house professionally cleaned before the family arrives for Christmas. We wanted a local small business that uses environmentally safe products. This company fit the bill. The cleaner arrived on time. She was nice and she worked hard. She cleaned all the flat surfaces, including the appliances and cabinets in the kitchen. She mopped and swept the floors and cleaned the baseboards. The bathrooms were sanitized and look amazing! We will be recommending this company to our friends and neighbors. We were totally satisfied with the quality of the cleaning and the wonderful customer service.

I hired Robin to install tile on my bathroom floor. Robin worked diligently using her skills to perform a quality installation. There were some complication with the toilet and pedestal sink removal and replacement. Robin worked through each problem with a positive "can-do" attitude. The complications caused the need for extra time on the job and multiple trips to Home Depot. Robin's calm perseverance de-stressed me through this experience. Robin also repaired my kitchen tile grout, after poor work from a previous installation. Robin's work is outstanding and I am more than pleased with my new floors. She went out of her way to assure my satisfaction. Robin's original bid was fair and she accepted a reasonable additional sum for the unforeseen difficulties. I would hire Robin again for tile work or any hand work around my house.

Jake's Carpet Cleaning did an AMAZING job on our carpets! We live in an apartment and our floors were in serious need of being cleaned. The technicians arrived on time and were very professional. I appreciated that they explained the process and the products they were going to use on the carpet. All of the products they used were safe for my toddler to be around. They did a great job and got the carpet cleaner than it was when we moved in. I will absolutely use Jake's anytime I need my floors cleaned, air ducts cleaned or anything else the company provides. I recommend them to all of my friends!

I've known John for over 10 years. We hired him to tile some floors before we put our home on the market. John had a wealth of knowledge on all the details from selecting the surfaces through proper installation. His work was excellent and the quality was commented on by potential buyers. John is a rare craftsman and a true joy to have working in one's home!

      Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

How can I get my grout clean?

Dirt, mildew and grime can make your grout lines look downright tragic. If you have the ability, DIY tile and grout cleaning is definitely doable. Your main obstacles are time, project size, availability of the right materials and effort. Your first step in tile and grout cleaning is making sure the surface area is cleaned of basic dirt and buildup and wiped down. Be sure not to use a bleach-based cleaning agent, which could react dangerously with the vinegar used in later steps.

Depending on the delicacy of your tile and grout, it may be wise to start with water and friction before proceeding to a cleaning solution. In the shower you can spray the area while brushing gently, or use a spray bottle filled with warm water on countertops or floors. If water won’t do the trick, try a solution of equal parts warm water and white vinegar, and repeat the gentle brushing motion. This combination should begin to lift dirt and grime from the grout. For additional tile and grout cleaning power, baking soda applied directly to grout lines and sprayed with your water vinegar solution can help suds off sticky grime. If your DIY cleaning solutions aren’t doing the trick, store-bought sprays and pastes may have more cleansing power. Rinse thoroughly after cleaning and enjoy your sparkling clean grout.

Tile and grout cleaning supplies include:

      • Old standard or electric toothbrush
      • Stiff bristle brush
      • Spray bottle
      • White vinegar
      • Commercial grout cleaner

How much does it cost to clean tile and grout?

The national average cost for tile and grout cleaning ranges from $190 to $250. Pros may charge a flat fee or by the square foot. Rates can vary depending on the type of tile and grout you have (more delicate tiles may mean specialized products or careful handwashing), how dirty your tile and grout are, and what part of the country you are in (regional labor rates and costs to do business affect costs). For example, one floor cleaning company charges 75 cents per square foot for tile and grout cleaning for projects that permit cleaning by machine. Another company may charge $30-$50 per hour for hand-cleaning of tiles. Companies often charge a minimum fee for services to ensure their business expenses are met when they accept a job, no matter how small. In addition, a tile and flooring cleaning professional may charge added fees, such as $25 or more, to move heavy furniture or appliances.

How do professionals clean tile and grout?

If you need tile and grout cleaning and don’t have the time or mobility for scrubbing your entire house on your hands and knees, it’s time to turn to the pros. Tile and grout cleaning professionals have industrial-grade machines designed for the sole task of cleaning the porous materials of grout and tile. Typically, a cleaning pro will come out to assess the job and provide you with a quote. Often they charge per square foot (for example, 75 cents per square foot), with higher prices or an hourly rate for areas that will need hand cleaning. The national average cost for tile and grout cleaning ranges from $190 to $250. Once onsite, the pros thoroughly clean the area by wiping or sweeping down and then vacuuming up any dry dirt. Next a chemical tile cleaner is sprayed over the surface, causing dirt to loosen and adhere to the spray; the industry term for this is “suspension.” The pros then clean the floor with professional-strength machines, which often use a combination of steam, brushes and vacuum to loosen, agitate and lift entrenched dirt. Your floor is then rinsed, removing all the spray. Usually a small room can be cleaned in under an hour. Applying a sealant afterward is recommend and will also affect cost.

Hire skilled professionals for absolutely everything.
