I'm loving my lessons with Kathryn at Sollohub. She's very patient, finding different ways to explain when I don't quite know how to implement her feedback and recording exercises so that I can practice at home.
Melody made herself available on short notice to help my daughter get ready for a musical audition. She is very encouraging, building confidence about what my daughter does well while pointing out areas to improve without being negative. She is, of course, technically knowledgable, so we trust her instruction. We plan to continue with voice lessons no matter how the audition goes. Melody is everything we hoped to find in a vocal coach.
I had a very positive first experience with Mary. She is very nice and I can see that she is knowledgeable. I look forward to taking vocal lessons and organ lessons from her.
Jeremiah is a great teacher for piano and voice, youth and adults.
Brooke is easy to work with and my daughter loves her voice lessons each week
I took piano lessons from Tanya for many years, starting when I was 3, and I have known many of her students in the past. She is excellent with teaching young children and any student really excited about learning to play! 24 years later and I still play piano daily!
I studied with Karen before and had to stop for a while. When I decided to come back to voice lessons, I checked around, but realized that Karen's methods were the best. She makes sure that you understand what is happening with your voice and why. She is also very compassionate and intuitive, and understands that sometimes when I'm struggling with my voice, it's not because I am incapable, but that there could be something emotional behind it. Not only that, but taking lessons with Karen has improved my confidence and self esteem tremendously! I always leave her lessons feeling good about myself - even when she is tough on me, I know that she cares about not just my voice, but about me.
Catherine is such a beautiful person who made me feel so welcome and comfortable taking voice lessons for the first time. She is very knowledgable about her craft, and helped me gain the confidence and skills to break out of my comfort zone and sing with other musicians :) I would highly recommend Catherine especially if you are interested in exploring jazz, an area in which she has a lot of experience to offer.
I had been trying to teach myself guitar intermittently for the past few years through a variety of ways - instructional dvds, youtube videos, tablature sites, etc. While these resources are helpful, they haven’t taught me proper form or technique. I was really concerned that I’d be learning bad habits that would be hard to correct and slow my learning down. I’m fortunate to have a wonderful wife who, for my 45th birthday, bought me a month of free guitar lessons with Gene Crout. We started out with a few basic chords, a scale or two, and a few songs in the very first lesson. Taking lessons with Gene has been a really great experience. He’s friendly, patient, and extremely knowledgable about music. He’ll instruct me on whatever I’m interested in that week - it could be specific chords or techniques, guitar types, beginning music theory, how to change strings, etc. Nothing compares with having an instructor to give you real-time feedback on the fundamentals, to show you first hand what you're doing right or wrong, and when you're feeling stuck – to suggest the next step in the journey to become a better guitar player. I always look forward to lessons and I always leave feeling that I’ve made progress. I highly recommend Gene!
I had always wanted to take voice lessons and just never did. Then Kristine showed up. She herself is a remarkable singer, and not only does she help me understand the mechanics and physiology of the act of singing, she puts me completely at ease. We always have a lot of fun, and her encouragement is so appreciated. I highly recommend her!
Jordan came over to our home to provide our eager 7 year old with piano lessons. The lesson went well and we look forward to having Jordan provide in home piano lessons going forward! Jordan is patient and knowledgable which are key when teaching.
Before having lessons with Leandro I loved singing, but I had a hard time with high notes and with keeping my voice stable. It also felt like singing was really tiring. I hardly ever had a sound I actually liked and that was comfortable and easy to recreate. After my first few lessons my voice already felt much more stable, and I learned several exercises that helped me a lot. After every lesson I felt a big difference in the way I handled my voice; singing was way easier and much more pleasant! I think that the time I spent working on my voice with Leandro was crucial to being able to reach my goals and to feel like it is possible to get incredible results with technique and knowledge of your instrument! A lot of the things that I apply today to both singing and speaking I learned with Leandro.
Egemen is a tremendous composition teacher. His ultimate goal is always to help his student find the sound they are searching for, and every comment and suggestion is made with that intent. Egemen's immense mental catalogue of music allows him to make suggestions for listening on the spot, helping his students learn more about sounds and techniques they want to develop. I can attest that the quality of my compositions has increased drastically since setting foot in his studio, and I will always have his voice in the back of my head stating "wouldn't it be more effective to subtly obscure the metric feel at this point?" Egemen is incredibly supportive, respectful, kind, considerate, and talented, and I would recommend him to anyone who is seeking a highly skilled mentor.
Gudrun has been amazing! When my daughter first started voice lessons, her breathing and diaphram work was severely lacking. Since working with Gudrun, she now has a 4-octave range and is in all the top choirs at school. Additionally, her piano, chord progression and sight-reading skills have come a long way!
Amber helped my group and myself personally to learn several songs in a very short period of time. In our one-on-one lessons she provided insights into technique as well as how the music should feel and be played. She is a great person and a great teacher! I wish she was still in Austin!
Jenna is bright, sweet and very outgoing. She's passionate about music and the success of her students. She is very patient and makes voice lessons so much fun and easy to understand. I love that she works with students that have hearing loss.
Dr. Feiss has been our piano teacher for over 4 years and we couldn't be happier with the results we have seen. Dr.Feiss has a great demeanor suitable for younger children, adolescents, and adults-anyone! Dr.Feiss is knowledgeable in not only piano lessons, but is involved in various associations that connect the students to several different musically centered activities throughout the year. There is an Acheivement Day where kids get to create music themed art projects and perform. Dr. Feiss is a member of the piano Guild Organization that gets your piano student audition for judges from around the country. Dr. Feiss is exceptionally professional and his involvement with nationwide organizations ensures that your piano student is a part of something much bigger than just piano lessons. Highly recommended Dr. Feiss as your piano instructor.
Arias and Arpeggios provides piano and voice lessons for my children. Their favorite experience was performing on an outdoor stage for a crowd.
Our family LOVES the music lessons provided by Miss Lyza! Our kids ask for more constantly. While her musical knowledge and proficiency is at an incredibly high level, the best part for us is her dedication to providing what is just right for each child and helping them to develop their own interests and talents. She aligns each lesson specifically to the child, incorporating elements of performance, rhythm, dance, culture, instruments, and voice. She has done lessons for each of our three children and no two lessons are ever the same. She is exceptionally encouraging while maintaining high standards for growth of the child. I strongly recommend her for use with private or group lessons.

We offer voice lessons and vocal performance classes and the Ecstatic Choir. Michele Jennings is our voice teacher and performance coach. Michele has been teaching for more than 10 years and loves encouraging her students to express themselves through blues, R&B, jazz, folk, pop, funk, country, rock 'n roll, and more. Michele has a unique ability to identify and bring out the latent talents of new and inexperienced singers and gives them the confidence they need to express themselves in a style that is supportive as well as challenging. She is keenly aware that there is no "one-size-fits-all" approach and tailors her teaching methods to the needs of each student. She brings a caring and professional attitude to her leadership that fosters an assurance from which her students immediately benefit. She records portions of private voice lessons to mp3 or audio CD format for the students to use at home. Michele has directed Boulder's Ecstatic Choir for eight years. This is a community non-traditional choir, where all are welcome to join with no experience necessary. She has created and led vocal empowerment workshops for business leaders through the Boulder Chamber of Commerce Leadership Program and directed the singing program for children's Boulder Conservatory Summer Camp. She also enjoys mentoring teenage students in solo or group vocal technique and harmonies. Michele teaches vocal performance classes as well, where students learn to sing on stage into a microphone, direct a live band, and to connect with their audience. Classes focus on learning to do the following: - Honestly and authentically communicate yourself through your song's message - Confidently lead and communicate with the band, using language they understand - Understand and apply music theory and song structure - When under pressure, find your true presence - Use vocal technique effectively - Rehearse and use performance technique and stage presence to find power "I hold the radical assumption that if a person can talk, that person can learn to sing with ease, power and full control. Learning to sing in this way filters over into other aspects of our lives, and I find that students become more effective communicators and more confident individuals" - Michele Styles taught include jazz, pop, blues, rock, R&B, funk, motown, soul, oldies, disco, country, folk, and children's.
