I am very impressed with Beeline. They came out as scheduled and seemed to do a good job, though time really tells whether the treatment is effective. The technician suggested I wait 7 days to see complete absence of spiders. After a couple weeks, I did see a few more spiders and called. They give a 30-day guarantee, so they came a second time at no cost to me and absolutely no hassle. These folks are friendly, accommodating and even with the required return treatment I would say their methods are effective. Beeline will be my regular pest control service from now on.

He came out when he said he would, got the job done quickly. I thought the price was reasonable. Also like that I got a year contract, so that I can keep the pest problem under control without having to find someone new each time.

We are new to the area and property hadn't been serviced in a long time, if ever, for pest control. We were seeing lots of spiders and have definitely seen less since the service! Our technician was polite and professional.

Isaac with Pest Mafia has been wonderful! I am beyond terrified of mice, and he really has a trained eye for finding their little hiding places. I was having an issue in my garage, and he was able to resolve some of the gaps and openings that three other people could not. It has been about a month now, and I have not noticed activity. It may still take some time, but overall, I am very satisfied with Isaac and Pest Mafia, and look forward to working with them for general pest control in the future. Hopefully, no more mice!

My dealing with Pest Mafia was wonderful!! We had a mouse problem in our home. We had been setting traps for months and the problem continued. Pest Mafia showed up quickly and assessed our home. Pest Mafia pointed out the areas mice were entering our home. Areas inside and outside were sealed. Pest Mafia was very thorough. Since that time, I believe the last of our mice have been trapped and we have not seen any more. I would highly recommend Pest Mafia! The price was very reasonable as I had compared many companies and even more importantly, he was very thorough in his work!

I hired Nate to come take care of a couple wasps nests outside the home of the family I nanny for. He arrived promptly the morning after I reached out, (he had availability the day of, but our schedules didn't match up). He was polite, professional, and clearly communicated how he planned to deal with the problem. He also found several other nests on the playground structure the kids play on. In addition to eliminating the wasps Nate sprayed the exterior of the home for spiders at no additional cost. He worked quickly and was able to email my employer the invoice. Finally he offered to return to fill in the holes to prevent the wasps from returning. He honored the original quote. We were very pleased with his work.

Get rid of bed bugs in one day, guaranteed! Bed Bugs and Heat Treatment According to 6 out of 6 entomologists speaking at the Colorado Pest Control Association Convention of 2010, no available pesticides on the market effectively exterminates a bed bug infestation. 6 out of 6 entomologists agree that heat is 100% effective in killing all stages of the beg bug, from egg to adult. Lethal temperature for the bed bug is 120 degrees. Our temp air electric thermal remediation heating systems succeed in heating virtually any residential area to over 130 degrees Fahrenheit. Heat Treat, Inc. is the largest thermal remediation company in Colorado. Our combined/customized temp air systems are UL labeled and are larger than our competitors; meaning we can heat more square feet per system. We use specially designed fans to distribute heat to every corner of your home, exterminating any and all live bed bugs. Dozens of computer monitored wireless sensors make sure that we keep every space in the infected area well over the lethal temperature. Pesticide treatments are not only ineffective, but can cause bed bugs to flee from one area to another, spreading the infestation. Don't waste time and money on multiple attempts with different treatments. Kill bed bugs the first time with 100% effective thermal remediation. Call us for a free/immediate inspection. We guarantee that no live bugs will be found within 2 months after treatment; otherwise, we will treat your home again for free. Get rid of bed bugs for good; call Heat Treat, Inc. today!

    Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

What do pest control companies do?

Pest control companies handle all aspects of bug, rodent and animal extermination or removal. Pest control professionals visit your home or office to identify the type of pest that is troubling you and offer various treatment plans — complete with clearly outlined costs. Once you and the pest control company have a signed agreement, the pro will begin treatment. Pest treatment can range from the use of spray pesticides and gel bait to live and/or kill traps. There are a wide range of types of pesticides, many of them nontoxic for humans and other small animals. This means you may be able to have your home treated for pests without harming nearby wildlife or your dog and cat. The pest control pro will carry out the treatment plan and, depending on the service agreement, provide follow-up such as emptying traps, inspecting access points, or reapplying pesticide spray if the pests return. Costs will vary based on the type of pest you are having removed and the extent of the infestation. The average national pest control price range is $80-$130. From a minor bedbug event to an entire home termite infestation, pest control companies have got you covered.

How do you get bed bugs and how do you get rid of them?

The increase in bed bug infestations in the U.S. is a result of increased travel, lack of knowledge about preventing infestations, increased resistance of bed bugs to pesticides, and ineffective pest control practices, explains the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). It’s easy to mistake bed bugs for carpet beetles or similar-looking bugs, so infestations are often not noticed when they first occur. Prevention tips include keeping areas free of clutter, regularly washing sheets and mattress covers in hot water (and don’t forget to wash the laundry bag, too), and vacuuming regularly and safely disposing of the sealed vacuum bag. Not everyone has reactions to bed bug bites, which also may be mistaken for the bites of other pests such as mosquitoes, so timely bed bug extermination depends on identification of bed bug activity. If you notice physical signs of an infestation, contact a bed bug extermination professional as soon as possible to learn about chemical and non-chemical (such as heat) treatment options. An integrated pest management plan may incorporate one or more methods.

How do you get rid of termites?

The best way to get rid of termites is to act fast. Termites are a problem that will only get worse — and no matter how much you want them to, they usually don’t magically move out on their own. There are three main types of termites: drywood, dampwood and subterranean. Drywood and dampwood termites sneak through cracks in your exterior paint, nail holes, and gaps near windows and other openings and begin to eat through your wood. Subterranean termites enter your house from the ground up by creating mud tunnels. In all cases, they survive by eating the wood of your house. The type of termites you have can steer the treatment plan.

Methods of termite extermination include fumigation, use of pesticides, and use of natural elements that are poisonous to the bugs. The extent of your termite infestation will help determine the treatment method. If you have drywood or dampwood termites that have infiltrated all aspects of the wood in your home, the pest control pro may recommend enclosing the whole house in a tent and gassing the termites via fumigation. If you have subterranean termites, often the entire footprint of the home must be treated by drilling liquid treatments into the slab or foundation of the home to exterminate the colonies. In any case, once you see signs of termites, it’s time to take action and call a pest pro.

What are the signs of termites in your home?

When you see signs of termites in your home, call a trusted pest control professional as soon as possible to handle the situation. Termites feed on wood, meaning they eat through the wood that makes up the frame, floors and other components of your house. Most people don’t know they have termites until they discover the damage done, because termites remain hidden underground or inside the wood they are eating. Keep on the lookout for these signs of termites:

    • Water bubbles in your interior or exterior paint: If you poke at what look like paint bubbles and find termite droppings inside, it’s a sign of termite infestation.
    • Frass: This is a fancy term for termite poop. Keep your eyes peeled for what look like six-sided salt and pepper droppings.
    • Mud tubes: Subterranean termites move between their earth home and your house by building mud tunnels. Mud tubes under or along the side of your house or foundation are a sure sign of a termite infestation.
    • Wings or swarming near your home: As a new colony is looking for a home, they fly (swarm), then shed their wings and burrow into nearby wood.
    • Softening of wood or hollowed-out wood: Termites don’t like paint, lacquer varnish or other wood finishes, so they’ll eat inside the wood and leave the exterior finish like a shell.

How much does it cost to remove a mouse?

If you have a mouse in your house you’re probably quickly researching pest control costs. Mice, although tiny, can transmit diseases and also get into your food and leave unsanitary droppings around your home. If you have seen one mouse in your house, it’s likely that more have taken up residence in your crawl space, attic or basement. The national average pest control cost is $150-$200. Costs can vary depending on whether you need to get rid of a population of living mice or just dispose of a dead mouse (or full traps), how extensive the mouse population is, and where you live in the country. Here are some examples of average pest control cost for removing a mouse:

    • $150 for initial trap setup and inspection (and sealing of entry holes).
      • $50 for rodent removal service calls and emptying of traps. This visit can also include identifying and sealing entry points that were not sealed on the first visit.
    • Rodent extermination: $110-$350, depending on how heavy the rodent population is, whether the mouse infestation poses health risks, how many entrances exist and how many rodent bait stations are needed.
