Freelance Copy Editor with Copy Editing Certification Have you finished your manuscript, grant request, proposal, business plan, dissertation, thesis, book, speech, brochure, essay, or presentation? You should obtain my services to prepare it for publication. I provide three levels of copy editing: Light, Medium, & Heavy. Light editing includes spelling, grammar, punctuation, capitalization, item listings, table of contents, number usage, and word definitions/choice (an spelling checker spells an incorrect word correctly). Medium editing ensures correctness and consistency, addressing such issues as gender neutrality, format, content, style, syntax, logic, clarity, and word usage. Heavy editing adds the identification of redundancies, wordiness, triteness, vague generalizations, weak sentence style, organizational weakness, and lack of focus. In the past year I have edited nearly 100 professional services proposals. I am currently editing the pre-publication prospectus of a 'How-To' book.(show more)

**Send me a page or two or your work. I'll edit it for free. That's the best way to pick your writer/editor -- see firsthand what they do and how they do it.** I provide writing, editing, and writing instruction services to businesses, universities, government agencies, and non-profits nationwide. Ive done work for dozens of marketing firms, Unisys Corporation, U.S. Department of Defense, U.S. Air Force, CH2M HILL, Prentice Hall, LexisNexis, HP, Webroot, VMware, and Adobe, and Ive written and edited corporate, government, technical, and marketing documentation throughout my career. Because it assesses ability in language usage, grammar, and punctuation. I know my stuff. I have lite, shot and edited productions for over a decade. I have been pressing into next gen production approaches my entire carrier (and even developing some on the side). What should be evident is that I bring excellence and innovation to each of the productions I have worked on. Everything from using LED lighting to make the subjects stand out or crafting beautiful motion graphics that lend that extra polish that makes the production feel extremely professional. There was also a very clear period of visual effects experimentation (continuing to the present) which allows me to bring visual solutions to the table that normally would be cost prohibitive. Today my clients benefit from that in each of their productions. I love bringing value to a client/production and exceeding their expectations. I love making beautiful/magical experiences. And I love collaborating together with people to get there.(show more)
What do you love about your job?
Professional development services are critical to personal and professional success, yet are rarely provided as a part of our public education. Once a job seeker or a business owner, accessing top-of-the-line assistance is nearly impossible due to sheer cost. This is what continually motivates me in using my expertise to provide high-quality, affordable services.
Who or what inspired you to start your business?
As a social worker (by trade), I often look for a needed service and work to fill the gap. That's what happened here. After I became educated, trained, and experienced in professional development services, my friends and family continually sought my help because they couldn't afford them elsewhere. I continued to take on friends and family charging a little here and a little there. My ultimate goal is to keep services affordable, yet high-quality. That's my passion in this business.
