When I started taking lessons with Andres, I was brand new to guitar and had no idea how to structure my training. Andres has been kind and patient with me, offering options to structure my learning that not only keep me progressing but are exciting (so I'll stick with it week after week!). After each lesson, he sends me a recording and summary, so I can review what I've learned, gives me assignments to work on throughout the week, and, if I have a question mid-week, he's always happy to answer and work through an issue I'm having. Though he's flexible in how I learn, he also keeps me accountable, which I really appreciate. It's obvious he really cares about my development. Would highly recommend for new or even experienced players!

Studying guitar with Andres was a very enjoyable experience. His manner is friendly, relaxed, and very patient. He is a teacher who has in depth knowledge about different chord voicings, all over the guitar, and is able to impart detailed, disciplined practice methods for learning new music or guitar techniques (such as right hand fingerstyle or plectrum technique). In the absence of clear aims originating from the student, he has some go-to things that is loves about guitar playing and can teach easily, and can also direct the arc of a lesson. However, he is first open to teaching whatever the student might be interested in learning. He also has an excellent memory for providing a crystal clear, detailed, written summary of what was taught at the lesson, if needed, for the student to use for his practicing during the week. I found this extremely valuable.

Andres's mastery of the guitar and attention to detail is exceptional. I leave each session excited to practice and knowing exactly what I need to do to progress.

I've been taking lessons from Andres Orco for about a year now. I have a learning disability. He has risen to the task. He certainly has catered to my needs, and so far I am learning Chords and inversions, modes ,transposition and more. He is patient and kind and highly recommended by me. sincerely George McPherson Phone 508-446-7787 Email georgemac23@comcast.net

FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)? We can discuss on what the best fee and schedule of payment is. Lessons should never be a burden financially.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer? We will discuss the frequency and arrangement of the lessons every month to best fit the student’s schedule. Depending on the level of the student, the material covered in the lesson can be 1) based on the instructor’s recommendations for how to improve general musicianship and guitar skills and 2) completely based on a student’s particular interest (theory, genre or style-specific, technique, etc.) with pedagogical applications for improvement. Lessons are usually a combination of the two. We can also discuss how to structure the lesson so as to achieve both points to the student/parent’s satisfaction.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?I hold an undergraduate degree from Berklee College of Music, a masters from New England Conservatory, and I'm currently pursuing a doctorate from the University of Colorado, Boulder. During my masters, I received a teaching fellowship to teach at various institutions including middle schools, VA centers, and non-profits specializing in music for musicians in mental health recovery.
