Sorry this pro can’t do your job, but we know other pros who can.
Introduction: I am a professional photographer with 20 years experience in the fashion industry as a model. I specialize in photographing people, from high-end headshots, portraiture, and personal branding to commercial work and events. My experience on both sides of the camera allows me to bring out the best in people and capture natural, genuine expression. I use both natural and strobe lighting to make anyone look their absolute best. I love seeing the reactions of clients as they see themselves looking better than they ever thought they could in their images. My clients tend to be surprised at how relaxed, natural, and fun a shoot can be.

I worked with Michael Teak to take some fashion-oriented photos for my portfolio and he was nothing short of phenomenal. Michael clearly commands deep knowledge of photography; I was impressed by his use of light and the both prowess and creativity he brought to the shoot. His experience as a model also allows him to give poignant advice on posing and how to create great photographs. He is also kind and a fun person to work with--he does a great job at putting people at ease. Not only did I get some great images but I learned an immense amount from Michael during the shoot and enjoyed myself. I would recommend Michael to anyone and believe he's one of the best photographers in the Denver Area I've encountered.

I needed shots for a web-site and social media - Michael was very professional, thorough, and easy with my anxieties about being photographed. His wife did hair and make-up for me and she did a great job. And I am very happy with the results.

I hired Michael for a photo shoot for my 11yr old son's acting/modeling career. He was awesome! Michael took the time to get to know my son in comfortable conversation. He created an atmosphere that enabled my son to relax and feel free in front of the camera! I would definitely hire Michael again. He turned out to be a perfect match for my son! It's obvious Michael enjoys his work for it shows in his ability to connect with his subjects.

FAQs

  • How did you get started doing this type of work?

I started off in the fashion industry as a model back in 1998, which took me all over the world. I was fortunate to work with top photographers like Mark Seliger and Peter Lindbergh, as well as countless others. Over time I developed an eye for lighting and angles, figuring out how to showcase people in the best way. Just as importantly, I learned what it’s like to be on both ends of the camera, and how to communicate with and direct a client through a shoot, all while having fun!

  • Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

While I do often work with experienced models and actors, recently I had a few clients who weren’t all that excited about the idea of being in front of the camera- which is very common as well. Once we got going I coached them and joked with them until we were all having a good time, and the images turned out great! These sessions were each around two hours, but the session lengths usually range between one and four hours, sometimes more depending on the number of people and what we’re going for.
