- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My hourly rate ranges between $40 and $50 an hour, depending on the tasks, and I usually require a two hour minimum. If the job is in the mountains, or requires traveling time, I charge a trip charge.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
It starts with a phone call. I try to get as much information as possible about the job by speaking with the homeowner. Then we decide on a time for me to come over and see the job. I talk with the homeowner, discuss options, if that is applicable, go over what materials are needed, and then we schedule a date to start the work.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I spent a year as a VISTA volunteer building homes for a group of low income families. This is where my training started with the building trades. I have continued to expand my skills over the years.
