Introduction: I am a NASM certified personal trainer. I think fitness should be challenging but fun and light hearted. I’ve designed a program that works for complete beginners as well as more experienced movers which incorporates elements of martial arts, dance (don’t worry, I will not scream 5,6,7,8 at you and expect you to perform!), hand eye coordination, body work and breath work. Through this work my clients become more confident and highly adaptable. My approach to personal training is different. I work primarily with body weight movements and use very little weights. If your goals include improving your diet, losing weight, increasing stamina, getting stronger, faster, more agile and more connected to your body and mind then we will work great together. If you are looking to get super jacked and see a dramatic increase in your muscle mass then you’d be better suited for different personal trainer. My sessions start with breathing exercises, joint mobility, light cardio and a variety of exercises to really wake up all your muscle groups and get you ready for full bodied movement. Next we’ll put on some boxing gloves and do some pad-work together. I will be including the use of knee strikes and kicks if I feel that you are at a level to safely do so. The martial arts portion of the session is not intending to turn you into a deadly assassin but I have found that martial arts is a great way to get a good understanding of body mechanics and really get coordinated from head to toe. After the martial arts portion we will work on some hand eye coordination skills with tennis balls. This is a great way to unlock some creativity as well as get your brain in the game. Many of these skills seem difficult at first but can be achieved in only a few minutes as your brain adapts to the challenges. It can be super satisfying! Next, we will do some assisted (or unassisted if you prefer) stretching followed by some body work to relieve any excess tension in your muscles and reset your nervous system so that you can be calm and ready for whatever might be coming next in your day. To get the most out of my work, I recommend 90min sessions. This allows us to focus on stretching and bodywork for the last 15-30min, which I find to be a really beneficial way to end sessions. Private Self Defense Lessons

Adam has been awesome to work with. Instead of throwing me into a program he spent time creating a plan based on my goals. Having a chaotic work schedule, Adam has worked with me to adjust as needed. We have trained namely by Zoom to date and the workouts have still been amazing. Adam’s skill set covers multiple facets of training: flexibility, breathing, strength training and martial arts. The majority of our time to date has focused on strength training (I’m training for a physically demanding hunt) but I’m looking forward to the next phase which will be martial arts and self-defense.

Adam is truly a gifted trainer. I was really nervous and uncomfortable about getting started. He was able to put me at ease very naturally, and bring out the best in me. I really enjoyed the class. Adam was very thoughtful and payed close attention to my concerns and physical restrictions. The exercises were fun and versatile and helped me better understand my body and how to properly move with less pain in my daily life. I liked how personalized Adam’s approach was. He really took time to evaluate my concerns and designed the class in a manner that suited my needs the best. I would recommend this class to everyone who wants to do some fun physical activity as well as heal their body and learn how to live pain free.

Adam’s bodywork session is a one-of-a-kind experience. I was skeptical of the sessions at first, but I was surprised that the movements require working out your mind and body at the same time. He will cater your sessions according to your needs and most importantly, he'll make it an enjoyable experience. Tennis balls, martial arts, boxing, dancing, what? After a while, you can't resist having fun with it. I recommend Adam if you want an positive experience that will give your body the movements and relief that you didn't know it needs.

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

    I am a National Academy of Sports Medicine certified Personal Trainer. I hold a bachelors degree in dance from the California Institute of the Arts. I have also studied a variety of martial arts over the last 10 years or so. I hold a bodywork certification from the Alive & Well Institute of conscious Bodywork.
