FAQs
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
First, I like to sit down with the owner and discuss the business, its scope, and its history. I am very interested to learn the owner or management’s background and how and why they came to form the company. I also enjoy meeting the employees because in doing so I can measure their attitude and what functions they perform. We would then determine the scope of the work and a schedule for accomplishing the goals of the customer.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
B.B.A in accounting from the University of Texas. Continuing education over many years (my licenses are now inactive). 45 years of experience in accounting and income tax preparation.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
My father had his own CPA firm in Dallas. In high school I realized I enjoyed working with numbers and took the necessary bookkeeping and accounting courses continuing my studies at the university level. I worked for my dad in the summer and enjoyed bookkeeping. I went to work for my dad full time after receiving a degree in accounting.
