FAQs
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
We meet and I hear your financial situation, asking questions that come up and making notes. People say I am thorough. We talk about the extent and timing of the work needed, and finally, the fee. If agreeable, I ask for a signed engagement letter, which outlines the work, timing, fees and any other pertinent matters. Occasionally, I ask for a retainer, but only in exceptional situations. Same for progress billing. Normally, I ask for payment when I have completed and delivered the work product to your satisfaction.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a BS in Accounting from the University of Northern Colorado. After graduation, I worked for other CPAs for 6 years in downtown Denver, then bought the CPA practice of the first man for whom I had worked. My CPA license requires a minimum of 80 hours of continuing professional education in accounting, tax and business subjects every two years. I always exceed that.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I wanted a challenging career change, to utilize my strengths to work directly to serve people who value my abilities.
