FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My pricing system is not complicated. Teaching private one on one instruction is at the standard price. Since I teach in people's homes as well as in studio, the price could fluxuate depending on drive time and distance if that's what the job requires. This is usually understood by the client and I have not had a problem with it yet.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am in a state of continuous learning. What I love about music is there is always more to learn. You could practice 24/7/365 and still not know all that music has to offer. Since music is a science of mathematics it is always evolving. There is new information coming out every day on how to get better at a instrument. Any instrument, not just guitar. I love guitar because there is no end to how many different ways it can be played. And with every new song, chord, scale or other techniques that's accomplished, something new is learned. If you love to play music, you should be on a quest to keep learning. And with a bit of consistent effort you will learn new things that will take you places you never thought existed. And in the process you will become a better person.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I got into this line of work due to my playing in bands throughout Colorado. Playing on stage is a lot of fun and people could see that. Soon, they started asking me if I could teach them what I know. So slowly 1 lesson at a time, 1 student at a time I started teaching. I started to tune in to what my students wanted and created lesson plans to fit their style of learning. Along the way, I developed great friendships with many great people that I'm still in contact with today. Teaching guitar has been a blessing in my life and I feel very grateful for it.
