- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
If I have to put you in my schedule and travel to your residence to consult and/or estimate, my charge locally (Colorado Springs area)$25, near outside (Denver, Pueblo, Canyon city)$50, further outside $75. My estimates are by the hour 28$ an hour for me, additional workers $15-$25 additional an hour.. My bidding can also include materials and/or cost plus situations. Outside Colorado Springs will include a hotel charge for projects that are over three days in length.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Upon meeting a customer, I like to find out what it is that they are trying to achieve. Then I see what the environment of the project is like, this is very important, sometimes conventional things cannot be done in conventional ways. Then I need to know the material they want to use, some material is harder to work with than others. After that square footage and height of the project is sometimes required for my final outcome,.. the estimate! Now through my experience, I can adjust this final process through many means of cutting corners, if decided upon by the customer or owner.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Hands on, on the job training and repetition, learning OSHA rules and regulations, working with various crafts and tradesmen. Working in various climates and landscapes. Learning codes of the trades. Learning techniques and problem solving. Using math skills for accuracy and true made buildings. Learning from veterans, elders if you will, of the many trades I’ve been exposed to, in over 30+ years.
