FAQs
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I used to do a lot of continuing education for credits and was dissatisfied with my experiences. I now prefer to do a lot of "trades" with other professionals and other therapies. Chiropractors, Physical Therapists, D.O.'s, and out of state Massage Therapists and in so doing pick up a lot of new tricks. Some of them I can convert into a new massage move that is extremely beneficial for my clients. In so doing I get many, many compliments on how "good that feels". BTW, I am always careful to never exceed my "scope of practice" in creating these new massage moves. (Just in case you were wondering!)
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
For me it was something that I have been doing since a very young age. I was the kid that knew how to rub a neck or shoulder and always got the know to release. I guess it is a natural knack that I have honed to a very fine skill.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
Typically I have a large number of computer professionals. These are the folks who spend most of their day at the keyboard and thus have a lot of repetitive use strains from being at the computer so long without a break. So a lot of neck shoulders and upper/middle back work. Yup... I have had a lot of practice in those areas. I also see a lot of auto accident patients who need help in their recovery. I do bill your auto insurance and you will not have any worries about the costs of your treatment. That is what Med Pay is for. And I have many athletes and physical fitness enthusiasts that love to push themselves to the limits of their potential. That is when they call me for a little assistance in getting to their peak of performance. Deep Tissue massage is a wonderful adjunct for the athlete who wants to be at the front of the pack!
