Does Great work. He do hardwood and tile through out. Really worked with us on the prices. Literally does EVERYTHING. Only reason they are getting 4 stars is because they do not haul away trash and when you doing a lot of work it ends to be a mountain of trash and cut up materials. Other than that I would hire again !

He was on time, and quickly found the problem. He went after the part, and got it installed. The pricing seemed fair to me, and was much, much cheaper than buying a replacement appliance. He also helped with another problem that had nothing to do with the service call.

I needed my townhome kitchen completely ripped out and redone to create a better floor plan and make it more usable. I needed two walls ripped out, cabinets installed, a kitchen island built, counters tiled, floor tiled, walls patched and painted, light fixtures updated, appliances installed...the whole 9 yards! Aviv Tile and Remodeling did a fantastic job...I'd recommend them to anyone! Lee (Mr. Aviv) worked with me on all my design choices every step of the way. He made suggestions based on whether I wanted things to "look pretty" or last forever, and managed to make it do both! When I was confused about my kitchen layout options, he drew up a floor plan and put the whole thing in photoshop, so I could see what it would look like before it was built! He was professional, prompt, clean, respectful, and gave me the best customer service I've ever experienced--even when I changed my mind on the design a million times. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

All Tile has been designing and installing tile for our custom homes for over 18 years. Over the years he has been an integral member of our talented team of trades people and, consequently, our success. Scott has an eye for tile layout design and is exacting in his trade. He communicates well with our customers and can work unsupervised. He's the best in his trade.

Howard is very contentious and did a great job repairing the joists on our deck! He also recommended against a suggestion from the Home Inspector that the new joists be married up to the rotting joists. He said this would give you double the rotting joists! He replaced them instead and I really appreciated his suggestion and candor.

We received about 8 estimates from different companies. Ransom delivered the most concise and least confusing quote of all. He was very easy to work with and super flexible with our time and budget. He is a super guy and does incredible work. My dogs loved him he is very professional and every tile was placed perfect (I checked all of them :)). He made suggestions and offered insight a first time bathroom remodel easily could have missed and been disappointed. We have 2 more bathrooms, a laundry room and kitchen all which we will be exclusively using Precision Tile Works for.

Rob Mooney is amazing!! He was professional and did a fantastic job on several projects, including an in-wall exterior dog door and interior cat door installations I needed. Originally I hired Rob to do the doors, but a faulty dishwasher meant I needed to postpone the project. Rob was understanding of my situation, and offered to install the dishwasher as well once it was purchased. He did a wonderful job on all the installs, and even checked in to make sure everything looked great and was functioning properly. Rob was timely to our project appointments and responsive to all of my text and phone calls. Rob is very knowledgeable in all aspects of handyman work and answered all my questions regarding several projects with ease (both current and future). I will be directing all future projects (and mishaps) his way. I highly recommend this handyman!

I hired Patches of Hope through learning and seeing their work at my nephew's home. I hired them to redo my garage floor (concrete) which had sunk before I moved into my home. After that I hired them to remodel a basement utility and bathrooms. Which had weekly plumbing backups since I moved into the home. They took care of getting electrical, plumbing, concrete, tile and drywall workers coordinated. We ran into several issues due to the construction of this home that should have been question at time of building this house. Had several setbacks due to that. Patches Had awesome communications of the schedule, periodic looking at work done for the day on a timely manner. I'll hire them again when it's time to do the kitchen and upstairs bathrooms.

There is nothing to be said negative against CTI LLC. Grant responded to our call, gave a solid estimate (which is what we paid), showed up on time and worked to complete the job when he said it would be done. His tile work was amazing. After being a part of many remodels, I have never seen the round edges in the shower. He framed the window and cubby with round tile, so the first thing you see is not the grout. The tile was the same shade, yet he laid it out so the different shades were displayed with purpose. One of our corner shelves dropped and broke. Grant replaced it for free, because he said it was his responsibility. He covered our carpet so not to leave dust tracks. He cleaned up his mess and you wouldn't know he had been here if you hadn't seen the progress or him working. I will not use any one other than Grant. The price was fair, and I probably could have found less expensive but I don't think I would have found the quality that I got with grant. We will be using him again.

Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

How much does it cost to tile a shower?

The cost of tiling a shower depends on two main factors: the size of the shower and the quality of the tiles. In general, most professional tilers charge an average of $25 per square foot of tiled area and the national average cost for a tile installation project is $490-$750. The tiles themselves are the greatest variable; the cost depends on their size, shape, pattern and manufacturer. For example, tile purchased at a volume discount from a big-box store cost far less than tiles made in small batches by an artisan ceramics shop. Prices can range from as little as $1 to $50 or more per square foot of tile. Other factors that will drive up the total tile installation cost are grout and mortar, speciality tiles like bullnose caps or soap holders, and surface prep materials, especially if drywall needs to be replaced before the tile can be installed. Many tile installers will also remove and haul away any old materials from an existing shower installation.

How much does it cost to tile a bathroom?

Tile installation costs are a key part of your bathroom remodel costs. The tile you select (which can range from under $2 per square foot to $50 per square foot or more), the demolition and repair work required prior to installation, and the size of the job will all affect cost. You can install tile in the shower, on the counters, on the wall or on the floor. The national average for tile installation cost ranges between $490 and $750. Bathroom tile is easy to clean and durable for daily life. Here are some examples of average bathroom tile installation costs:

  • Tile installation at $25 per square foot of tiled bathroom area.
    • A standard tub and shower combo requires tiles for approximately 60 inches of length. Calculate wall height and add 30 to 36 inches of tub width for the walls at the head and foot of the tub. If the tile walls are 6 feet to 8 feet high, in this example, the tile installation costs would run about $2,000. Price includes materials.
  • Tile installation on a 3-foot by 5-foot regular tub and shower walls with an 8-foot ceiling: $1,450. Price includes materials.
  • Tile installation on a 3-foot by 5-foot regular tub and shower walls with a 10-foot ceiling: $1,650. Price includes materials.

How much does it cost to install a ceramic tile floor?

Tile installation costs for ceramic floors depend on the type of tile you select. You can purchase tile that sells for under $2 per square foot or tile that costs $50 per square foot — or more for artisanal and hand-painted tiles. The cost of labor to install a tile floor will also depend on the tile you select. It is far less labor-intensive to install a white 12-inch by 12-inch square tile than a 2-inch by 2-inch hexagonal tile with a distinct pattern. That extra time and energy equates to a higher per-square-foot installation cost. For example, a flooring pro may charge approximately $3.50 per square foot for labor to install wood-look tile in an area ranging between 6 feet by 24 feet and 8 feet by 48 feet. That same pro may charge $6 or more per square foot for a more intricate pattern, or a smaller space. Some installers may charge a minimum day rate for ceramic tile floor installation, such as $340 minimum per day, to cover business expenses and employee wages. If you’re looking to reduce costs, removing your existing flooring and handling any repairs needed can help eliminate prep work costs. Prep work may be charged per hour and could cost anywhere from $25 to $80 per hour or more, depending on the region and the type of repair work necessary.

How much does it cost to get tiling done?

You can install tiling on your floors, walls, counters, kitchen backsplash, outdoor patio and shower — to name a few places. Tile is beautiful, easy to clean, durable, and resilient against kids and pets. The national average for tile installation cost ranges between $490 and $750. Often, tile installation specialists quote a price per square foot for installation. Costs can increase if you want the pro to supply the tile instead of ordering it yourself. Other factors that can increase cost include specialized installation with a unique design that will require more labor to install.

Prep work will also affect tile installation costs. Demolition of the existing floor, counter or backsplash takes time and energy that will be reflected in the price. Necessary repairs, such as a sub-floor that needs bolstering before tile flooring can be installed, will also increase costs. For tile showers, one example of tile installation cost may be approximately $25 per square foot including all materials and labor. Average tile installation costs for backsplashes may run anywhere from $10 to $40, depending on the materials selected and the amount of labor required. The larger the area where tile is being installed, the lower the price per square foot will likely be. For example, a flooring pro may charge approximately $3.50 per square foot for wood-look tile installation in an area ranging between 6 feet by 24 feet and 8 feet by 48 feet.

How much does it cost to install tiles in a kitchen?

One of the most common kitchen upgrades is installing decorative backsplash tiles in the space between the counters and cabinets. It’s a chance for homeowners to get creative while also protecting the kitchen walls from splashes and stains. Like all tiling projects, kitchen tile project costs depend on the tiles you choose, installation materials such as grout and mortar, and any surface materials, like replacement backer board. The national average for a tiled kitchen backsplash is $490-$750. In general, pricing averages $10-$40 per square foot for installation, not including tile. Some professional tile installers have a minimum day rate for small projects, which averages $350.
