Introduction: I started Walkaway Creative in 2003 after completing my bachelor's degree in video production and technical computer graphics in 2002. At the time, programs were a lot more difficult to work with; thus, the learning curve just 10 years ago was insanely more tedious than coding is today. The same goes for video production. Ten years ago, a beta cam was used with tapes and weighed between 30-50 lbs. with batteries attached. Now, run-and-gun shoots or gorilla shoots are much easier to complete with the utmost satisfaction. Cameras are smaller, the media is smaller and you are able to record more at a much better quality. One of my favorite things to do are field shoots. Shooting, pulling out the laptop and transcoding on the run, shooting some more, then having an edit due in 3 hours after you finish shooting! It was fun. After working for two major production houses in the St. Louis area for nearly 10 years, I felt that I have obtained the skill set that is needed to start and finish a project; one that we both will be proud to put our name on. I have worked with just about every kind of shoot -- from staged commercials to production videos, instructional videos, educational, interactive, green-screen 3D, integrated animation using Cinema 4D and Final Cut Pro, and on and on. From pre-production to postproduction, I am skilled to get the project completed.
