I had spoken with other lawyers, and had done some research prior to speaking with Jeffery. My search for a lawyer to help with brand management stopped after Jeffery took the time to make sure we were moving forward informed. I highly recommend just talking with him, and think you'll gladly be a client if you do.

Best experience I've had in trouble if you can think of it that way. I ignored 2 traffic tickets that resulted in 2 bench warrants and over $2000 in fines. I talked to a lot of lawyers before I found Loren and I'm glad I did! Loren and his team was always there when I had questions and got both warrants dropped, one ticket dismissed completely, and around $500 in fines. I couldn't have been more happy. I would recommend to anyone!

I recommend Ryan Peterson for any cases you may have. Out of all the lawyers I called he was more worried about helping me than the money. I gave him a 1000$ retainer fee and because the case was not that bad he gave me 700$ back. I rate his work A+ , thanks again. Mike M.

Handling my own case became overwhelming after a garbage truck totalled my car and injured me. After being turned away by three lawyers because a health provider said I had a preexisting condition, Remington took my case and settled for $30,000. He handled it with efficiency and integrity, always placing my needs first. He was never too busy for my questions; he stood up to those who would take advantage of my vulnerability--I was as important as any million dollar case. Remington is a person of generosity and high principles, a person who earned my trust. I have complete confidence in recommending The Fang Law Firm.

After I got my ticket I knew I would need a lawyer. I've never have used the Lawyer before so finding a good one was a difficult choice because they're so many out there. After speaking with several lawyers Curt Alfrey Was my choice because of his knowledge and experience about my charges his compassion and of course value. Curt answered all my questions and was there for every step of the way as well as recommending all the steps I need to take to make things easier. In the end I wasn't expecting to to come out of it free and clear but the outcome was much better than expected and better then if I had tried to do it alone. I would definitely recommend him and if I ever needed I would call him again.

I utilized Krista as a consultant for several hours during my divorce, and frankly she couldn't have been better. I tried a few other consults, but they were impersonal and almost cold. Divorce is intimidating to even begin research, and the internet is rife with half-answers and misinformation engaging for-hire lawyers at an hourly rate. And these lawyers are expensive, and therefore always have a vested business interest in billable hours and time. Needless to say, answering quickly and efficiently is not in their best interest. Krista was the opposite of this; she had real world examples and anecdotes, specializing in Colorado divorce and mediation which she has done for well over a decade now. She was able to remove emotion from the equation and talk about the law while putting me at ease. This directly led to my ex-wife and I settling on numbers and proposals that were amicable and not adversarial. Although an unpleasant time emotionally, Krista kept everything on the table and helped tremendously. She's passionate about helping people out-- it is her specialty (and she could have charged more), and I couldn't recommend anyone else as highly.

The case we had was primarily due to a cop. The DA and cops had their agendas making life difficult for no reason, it was an alleged domestic violence without any proof or witness. Mike took the time to understand the case and the facts associated with it. He then rightly fought to get everything dismissed. Throughout the process he answered questions, offered guidance and support. He explained the whole process and even when we were distraught, helped us navigate the complex legal system. We were very happy to hire him and are very happy to have made the right decision in not going with other firms who wanted us to take a deal inspite of fraudulent charges. He is a great lawyer and very professionally capable and guided us with our case. We would recommend hiring Mike Evans without any reservations for your criminal case needs.

Knowledgeable and very thorough. I felt like he understood my situation and cared about what happened to me. I was impressed that he had a medical background before becoming a lawyer. I hope to never need this type of service again, if I do, I would hire him again if possible.

Mark E. Kraynak represented me in a criminal case where I was charged with a slew of felonies. I give him 5 out of 5 stars. The case was resolved by a plea bargain where all of the felony charges were dismissed. I pled guilty to a single low level misdemeanor on the first day of the jury trial. Here are a few of the many positive things I have to say about Mr. Kraynak: * Mark Kraynak will fight for you. He discovered that the police failed to preserve and/or destroyed critical evidence. This in turn no doubt gave us substantial leverage to negotiate such a favorable plea deal. * Mark simultaneously represented me in an administrative law case which was related to the criminal case, and he did a super job in the admin case as well. * He’s accessible and available 24/7 365, if necessary. There was not a single time that I contacted Mark where he did not promptly get back in touch with me. * Mark is a blue-collar lawyer. He worked very hard on my behalf to get a great result in my case. * Mark Kraynak is good guy. He’s easy to get along with and very professional. C.R., Denver, CO

After my ex cheated on me, I knew I had to lawyer up in a big way. I found Heather Coleman, and she fought to make sure my ex didn't wipe out my hard-earned assets. She made sure I got equal custody of our kids. I call her "Heather the Hammerhead" because she's relentless in her pursuit of her client's interests.

    Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

What does an immigration attorney do?

Immigration lawyers help their clients through all phases of the immigration process. Experts on immigration law, they are legally qualified to represent U.S. citizens, permanent residents or undocumented immigrants. Immigration lawyers also provide assistance to visitors here on student, work or travel visas, and can represent clients who may have an expired visa or who have overstayed their visa.

You can hire an immigration lawyer to assist you with petitioning for renewing a permanent resident or green card, navigating the naturalization process, submitting an employee-based petition for a work visa, filing a petition for a family member, or representing you or a loved one who is facing detention or deportation, as well as replacing, extending or changing a current visa, green card or work permit. The immigration process is highly complex, with multiple hearings, paperwork and requirements. Hiring a legal expert to represent you can help you make your best effort in the process. When researching immigration lawyers, it is very important to verify their qualifications and find a reputable attorney. Read reviews and verify that the immigration lawyer is licensed by your state before paying any fees.

How do you find a good real estate lawyer?

If buying or selling property feels overwhelming and the thought of finding a good real estate lawyer seems daunting, you’re in luck. There are some simple steps to follow for finding a trustworthy, affordable real estate lawyer to help with your property and legal needs.

    • Determine what kind of real estate lawyer you need. Many states require a real estate attorney to handle sale closing documents. For more complex matters such as a real estate deal gone awry or foreclosure, you’ll want to find an attorney who has successfully handled cases like yours.
    • Look for online reviews of real estate lawyers in your area. Verify that they have proven experience closing or winning cases like yours and that they are in good standing with the state bar association.
    • Choose two or three lawyers to interview. Many offer a free consultation to learn about your case and provide information about rates. For standard real estate closing services, in-depth interviewing might not be necessary.
    • Ask about their rates and whether they charge by the hour or provide services for a flat fee. Ask whether a retainer is required, and what the total bill should be for a case like yours.
    • Ask for a write-up of the services that will be covered by the projected costs.
    • Make sure you like the real estate agent and they treat you with respect. Confirm whether they or another person will be working on your case and make sure you’re comfortable with all members of their team.
    • Pay the retainer and hire your lawyer.

What is a personal injury lawyer?

A personal injury lawyer fights on your behalf if you’ve been injured physically, psychologically, economically or in reputation. This injury may be the result of neglect or malicious intent of another person, or it could be at the hands of a business, government or other entity. Personal injury lawyers specialize in tort law, which is the law of civil wrongs like car accidents, company wrongdoing, unlawful imprisonment and more.

To become qualified to be a personal injury lawyer in the United States, a person must earn a bachelor’s degree, followed by a Doctor of Jurisprudence degree from a law school. Most states then require the person to pass the bar exam to become licensed to practice law. Unlike many attorneys who require a retainer, personal injury lawyers often work on contingency fees. This means that in lieu of payment upfront, they receive an agreed-upon percentage of the settlement in case of a win.

What does a real estate lawyer do?

A real estate lawyer represents their client’s best interest in all matters related to the sale, purchase and ownership of real estate. They are experts in real estate law. In states that require a real estate lawyer to close home sales, the lawyer must review and finalize all documents before the deal can be legally completed. Real estate lawyers also help clients legally protect their rights when entering, exiting or renegotiating a real estate deal. You can hire a real estate lawyer as an individual or as a business. A real estate lawyer can help with negotiation, addressing mortgage fraud, managing foreclosures and bankruptcy, transfers of titles and deeds, property ownership disputes, zoning issues, creating a co-ownership contract for joint purchase of a property, and much more. Real estate lawyers can also protect you from issues that result when a known problem was not properly disclosed by the previous owner. Overall, real estate lawyers are an added cost when it comes to buying and selling property, but they also ensure your best interests are met, and that you and the people you are doing business with comply with the law.

What kind of lawyer does wills?

No one likes talking about death, but it’s better than leaving your children or siblings to sort out your estate. A clearly planned will can make the time of mourning easier for everyone. An estate attorney will develop a legal will, create trusts on your behalf, and ensure the proper execution of your estate after you pass away.

Family attorneys and estate attorneys, also called probate and wills attorneys, can each prepare wills. The type of lawyer best suited to prepare your will depends on your situation. Most family attorneys provide services to prepare basic wills, including bequeathing property and personal items to family or naming a guardian for minor children. However, estate attorneys specialize in preparing wills in more complex situations. Consider hiring an estate attorney if you:

    • Have a large number of assets, especially those subject to estate taxes
    • Want to create a trust, such as allowing a spouse to live in your home until he or she dies and then leaving it to your children, or set up long-term care for a beneficiary
    • Have an ownership stake in a business
    • Expect someone to contest your will
    • Want to disinherit your spouse
Hire skilled professionals for absolutely everything.
