As this was my first experience dealing with an editor, I had only a slight idea about what to expect. I was hoping Christopher wouldn't pull any punches with my manuscript. As it turned out, he was brutal. It was exactly what I needed. He was extremely professional, very timely, and totally unforgiving. I could have counted the grammatical and spelling errors that he found but I'd probably still be counting them. Better than that though was his attention to the content and direction of my book (It's a 61,000 word fictional story). He had me questioning so much. Tense, repetition, logic, flow, etc. Did I use all of his suggestions? Almost. That's the other great thing I truly appreciated about Christopher. He understood the need for me to decide for myself whether or not to ignore him. He made sure I knew and accepted the fact that - yes - he is a professional editor, and at the same time he chose not to play the tyrant. Will I use him again? Most definitely. My only fear is that he'll read this review and call me with corrections. Vince Dowdle Jr.

Nicole Vanacore was very thorough and explained everything very well. My daughter had previously taken the SAT and did ok studying from books and website but was wanting another way to improve her score. Nicole Can her some great tips and understood what my daughter needed to focus on to improve her score. My daughter confidence boosted and she improved her score tremendously! I would highly recommend Nicole and will be using her again when it is time for my others to take SAT.

Kim is an excellent project manager, and has a commanding digital skill set including content creation, editing, marketing and publishing. Combined with her talent in photography, there's no project that Kim can't deliver on time, on quality, and on cost. Kim recently composed a professional Bio for my participation as a technology panelist. I was struggling to capture the right mix of education, skill and relevant experience. Kim found the balance I needed and made me shine (again).

Laura Yaun is absolutly outstanding (Five Stars *****) - the work Laura does is incredible! I have worked with Laura over the last three months. She was always responsive to questions, always helpful and did amazing work. This was my first book and being a Techno-thriller, I didn't know what to expect. She went beyond my expectations. She was patient in answering questions and did what I asked with positive attitude. Her work ethics are great. She was quick to respond to email or telephone. I think that she did a great job, correcting, grammar, spelling, format, and everything else that was needed without changing my writing tone. She is very flexible and professional in her work. I am very satisfied with her work Laura was very responsive to my timeline. I had an excellent experience and would like to credit Laura Yaun for that experience and for helping me succeed with my novel. I've decided to ask her to edit my other books as well. She seemed to have lot of experience in this area and I requested her to take additional responsibility for designing book cover, interior book design and marketing. I highly recommend her. Cudos to you Laura

I was looking for a "birthday book" in which I could post pictures and write about the events of the year. I had a vague idea of what I wanted but I needed help getting to the end product. The service I received from Paper Bridge Designs was outstanding. Jennifer walked me through each step of the process. She always listened to my ideas and then came back with three more ideas that had never crossed my mind! Her creativity was unmatched, which resulted in a beautiful end product that gets complimented every time it is seen. The quality of the book is top notch and I know it will be a lasting, cherished book of memories.

Michael is currently editing my lastest book in preparation for its release, as well as planning a detailed strategy to maximize its visibility and success. I cannot be more delighted by his professionalism, his insightfulness and pleasant attitude. He is a true marketing expert. The content of the book is mine but its success will belong to Michael. I hope this is the first of many, many collaborations in the future.

I initially hired Anna-Maria as an illustrator to create a series of drawings for a photography book I'm writing for a large New York publisher. She has begun this extensive project, and her early results are superb. This is still a work in progress, but she is a skilled graphic artist who stepped up to the job with great energy and sensitivity to the images that appear in this book. I've also tapped into her grapjhic design background, and her familiarity with many fields related to publishing. to do some of the complex work of research and acquisition involving historic and archival photographs. This is a rare skill. She clearly has an acute sense of priorities and a feel for working on, and under, budget --both critical to this long term project. To sum her up,? I couldn't be happier with Anna-Maria. I'll send a followup review when we've finished. if you like, and hope still have some superlatives left to evaluate her then.

Receiving copy and very little direction, Tiffany brought a children's story about the Tooth Fairy to life! She was a consummate professional. All files were provided to spec and on time. She has such a unique style and the finished book will be amazing thanks to her beautiful work. So thankful to have worked on a project that features her work so prominently. Amazing.

When the time came for my daughter to apply to professional schools, we wanted an expert writer and editor to teach her how to polish the required essay she had written to accompany her application. We hired Savan Associates, and couldn't have been happier with the results. Savan Associates worked back-and-forth by email with my daughter, had her rewrite her essay three times to incorporate information missing from the prior drafts, and provided questions and comments on each draft to help her fill in any remaining blanks. Then Savan Associates coached her on how to condense that information into a final draft. Not only was her final essay concise, dynamic, and jammed with pertinent details, all within the maximum character count, but it precisely captured my daughter, her background and experience, her love of animals, and the reasons she should be accepted to vet school. Most valuable was how Savan Associates educated my daughter on writing and editing. This tutoring process not only enabled her to refine her essay into the product she desired for her veterinary school application, but also helped her improve her written communication skills for the long-term. Best of all, my daughter was accepted into five vet schools, including one of the top-ranked schools in the country. We know her excellent grades, GRE scores, and personal interviews had much to do with her acceptances, but we have no doubts her essay helped distinguish her from the competition. S. L. Z. Aly was a superb partner in every way--as she shepherded Tatra Press from concept to final product for a "book trailer" for a recent title, "My Cancer Year". She stayed within budget and on-schedule More important, Aly and her team clearly put their heart into the project...and their considerable talents. And, to boot, Aly's a lot of fun to work with.

Alec edited my book for me as well as helped to create marketing materials for my new start up business. While editing the book he was able to articulate complex concepts in a beautiful way--very clearly and succinctly. He challenged me on areas that were inconsistent in the book which made the overall result SO much better...much higher quality and consistency. I could finally relax knowing that Alec had looked at my work and fixed what needed fixing! He is a treasure and I am so grateful for his work and his guidance.

Mr. Morse is an excellent tutor. I have an eleventh grader that struggles with reading comprehension and writing. Mr. Morse started tutoring for us with very short notice and even read the book my nephew is reading in class, almost completely, by the first session (with only hours to prep). He has definitely helped my nephew understand what he is reading by relating it to what he knows and loves, (football, current events, etc) and inspires him to write better. Apprehensive at first, my nephew now looks forward to meeting with Mr. Morse and has a new found respect for language arts. We are fortunate he came along and glad we made the call. Thank you Mr. Morse, it is always a pleasure.

How do you hire a good grant writer?

Grants are available to nonprofit organizations, for-profit businesses that qualify for government grants, and individuals who qualify for foundation or government grants. Hiring a good grant writer can help you gain funding in your chosen field. According to the American Grant Writers’ Association, grant writers can help you research potential grant opportunities; write grant proposals, create budgets, and build budget narratives; review written materials before you submit; prepare a business plan; analyze your organization for grant competitive qualities; prepare research grants; help with 501(c)(3) applications for nonprofits; and more. Investing in the right grant writer could result in a financial win for your organization. Generally no licenses or certificates are required to be a good grant writer, but you may want to find a grant writer who has been certified (not just received a certificate of completion) by a reputable organization such as the Grant Professionals Certification Institute. Qualities to look for in a good grant writer include:

        • Proven success writing winning grants, especially in your target area.
        • Strong writing skills.
        • Strong math skills and demonstrated proficiency with budgeting.
        • Careful attention to detail — brilliant grant proposals may be rejected just for formatting errors, so you want someone who follows instructions explicitly.
        • Expertise in your target area.
        • Punctuality and good communication skills.

How much does a grant writer cost?

Hiring a grant writer can give you a competitive edge when applying for financial grants for your business or nonprofit organization, or as an individual. The cost to hire a grant writer can vary depending on their academic background, areas of expertise, previous grant writing success and years of experience. According to the Grant Professionals Association, grant writers should be paid hourly or by flat fee. It is unethical for a grant writer to accept a commission or percentage compensation of grant monies received. They can, however, be awarded bonuses in line with the hiring company’s prevailing practices. Here are some examples of average grant writing fees:

        • Hourly rate for grant writers with less experience or fewer grants awarded: $25-$35 per hour.
        • Hourly rate for grant writers with some degree of success: $35-$75 per hour.
        • Hourly rate for grant writers with proven success winning large grants: $75-$150 or more per hour.
        • For a smaller grant, the writer may charge a flat fee of $200-$500 for preparation and submission.

Pricing may also vary based on the complexity of the grant application. A federal grant that requires pages of research, budgets and a business plan may take more than 30 hours to prepare. For a high-level grant writer who charges $100 per hour, this means $3,000 or more in grant writing fees.

Most grant writers will provide you with a total cost estimate before agreeing to the work. You may be required to pay a deposit up front, or the grant writer may work from a retainer. Often, seasoned grant writers pay for themselves in the long run by writing successful grants.

Hire skilled professionals for absolutely everything.
