When I got my 2nd and 3rd DUIs one after another Jill was there for me every step of the way. She got me into a treatment program instead of jail and because that happened I'm now over 4 years sober. I didn't have a lot of time to get my 120 hours of community service done before probation ended with my DUI education classes every Saturday and work. Jill was able to get them all waived due to the work I did in treatment! I got my first DUI in 2007 and it was awful. This time with 2 DUIs, Jill made it go as smoothly as possible. Amazing. I recommend her to every person that asks me for legal advice and I would absolutely recommend her to anyone else. She knows her stuff, it is never ever hard to get a hold of her, and she gets things done. I interviewed six attorneys before deciding on Jill to represent me in my DV case. I selected Jill to represent me because of her confidence and her experience with criminal defense law. Jill listened with no judgment; her only thought/purpose was how to get me through a very terrible situation and get me the best possible resolution. Jill, was always in communication, said what she was going to do, and was a great negotiator with the prosecutor in my case. As a result, I accepted a deferred judgment when it appeared the house of cards was stacked against me! Jill did right by me my case was VERY complicated and weird it was very hard for me to find a attorney that believed my story && would fully put 100 percent into my case being my 3rd dui , others were very judgmental and to them it was just another dui case and just wanted me to pay them to basically do nothing for me! Jill went above and beyond helped me find a witness that seen the accident and seen someone leave the scene , she tried 120 percent to help me out and show the DAs the proof that they needed! She is more than just a attorney she believes in her clients and actually listens more like a friend! My rates are straight forward, honest, and always fair. With most cases, I offer a simple, flat rate fee agreement. No retainer necessary, and no added hourly, or 'hidden' attorney's fees. What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
My first step with every new client is to learn about you, and your situation. This is the purpose of our first, free consultation meeting. Each client has different goals, with needs specific to their case. A criminal charge or arrest doesn't have to be the end. I have the knowledge and experience to guide you through the legal process and put your life back on track. Following the consultation, we will agree to a fee that is fair to your specific case. At that time, you will sign a Fee Agreement and provide an up front payment (based on the terms outlined in the fee agreement.) What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I believe in the saying, “If you want to be great at your career, you must love what you do.” During law school, Jill was actively involved in trial advocacy programs, winning mock trial competitions and receiving first place for her moot court oral argument. She started on her path by fighting for the rights of the accused as an intern at the Washtenaw County Public Defender’s Office in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Courtroom litigation and criminal defense became her focus as her legal career progressed. Jill entered private practice as an associate and gained a vast amount of experience in criminal defense cases from major felonies (i.e., sexual assault, attempted murder, and arson) to traffic and petty offenses (i.e., disorderly conduct, DMV issues, and speeding tickets). The National Trial Lawyers has awarded Jill with the Top 100 Trial Attorneys recognition (2016, 2017, and 2018) and the Top 40 under 40 Trial Attorney Award in 2016.
