- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Our retainer for full dissolution with children is $3500. We reduce this to $2500 for uncontested matters with no children and for APRs (allocation of parental responsibilities for unmarried couples). We offer flat fee paperwork services, such as $1000 for all APR documents. We offer coaching services, where you represent yourself in court but we help you prepare at our standard hourly rates but no retainer.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I offer a fifteen minute free consultation for us to get to know each other. If it is a fit we will proceed with an initial consultation to analyze what steps are needed in your case and how we will move forward. You may choose full representation, in which I take on full responsibility for your case, including all communications with opposing counsel, so that you can focus on what matters most. If you prefer to have more control over how much you spend, you may choose to simply consult with me. You would then meet with me whenever something comes up in your case that you have a question about. I can review your documents and make suggestions, or help you consider what arguments you need to make to the court and what steps you need to take to introduce your evidence. Meanwhile, I will have ready knowledge of your case to "jump in" if you ever feel overwhelmed and in need of an advocate.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Colorado and I am licensed to practice in both Colorado and New York. I've engaged in advanced trial and deposition practice through the National Institute for Trial Advocacy. I've served on the Board of the Interdisciplinary Committee, a network of professionals devoted to child-focused family advocacy.
