FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I am currently charging $50/hour for private lessons. I also teach out of a second studio that sets their own rates at $108 flat rate per month.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I like to find out what each student is after, and why they are interested in playing the drums. Then I will usually run through some basics, and see how the student handles it. From there, I can branch out and address specific elements that are relevant to each student.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I studied percussion at the University of Manitoba, Canada, from 1991 to 1993. I am a graduate of the Advanced Performance Program at the Collective School of Music in Manhattan, 2007. And, I studied audio engineering at Colorado Sound Studios in 2012. In addition, I have studied drums, guitar, and piano privately with a variety of teachers. My drum teachers have included Kim Plainfield, Pat Petrillo, Zoro, Peter Retzlaff, and Ari Hoenig, among others.
