Introduction: First lesson FREE!! My focus is on giving the gift of music. Whether you're a beginner or looking to take the guitar to the next level I strive to show that there is a place for music in everyone's life. I teach a wide variety of students ranging from beginners to advanced, with my youngest student being 6 years old and my oldest being in her early 60's. I believe that whether you are a beginner, thinking about music as a hobby, or someone who wishes to pursue music as a career, I can deepen your understanding of music and grow your musical capabilities based on your specific needs. I strive to provide real-world application to my students from a musician who is actively immersed in it. I want my students to be equipped with the tools and knowledge to grow as a musician both in the lesson and out. As a musician who is constantly playing, writing and recording in a number of various settings including jazz, pop, rock, and hip-hop there are endless areas of growth we can dive into. Music, specifically the guitar, is my passion. I am extremely grateful for the opportunity to teach and create on a daily basis. Seeing students progress and grow with their instruments is truly a great feeling.

I like how he goes for profession in making you go over and over until you get it right and it sounds good. I like his interest he takes in helping and giving you different way to understand and to things.

Alex is a true professional musician and teacher. I had seen him play many times around town and finally asked him if he taught lessons. Here we are 8 months later and I don’t feel like a beginner anymore. Alex always comes prepared with new material/music to work on and is very patient with me. I would recommend Alex to any one of my friends or family for lessons.

Having worked with Alex on many occasions I can say that he is hands down in a league of his own! His dedication to his craft and constant drive to push the envelope forward is what makes him one of the best! Highly recommend to anyone of any age. Alex’s ability to adapt to any environment musically transitions seamlessly into everyday life. This guy is a joy to work with and learn from!

I have been studying guitar with Alex for the past 16 months. He is very patient and kind. I have enjoyed my lessons very much. My first guitar teacher was not a good match for me, and I very nearly gave up on learning to play guitar. I am left-handed and it is a great help to have a left-handed teacher. Everything makes sense, and I am really enjoying learning to play. As an older adult, it takes me longer at times to learn new things, but I get great encouragement from Alex, and I have progressed a lot since I started with him. Alex's love for music and guitar come through in his teaching, and I am thrilled to have him as my teacher. I would simply say that Alex is a great teacher!

FAQs

  • What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

$50 per hour lesson $30 per half-hour lesson I offer single or monthly lesson packs, which consist of generally 4 lessons.

  • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

When I get a new student I generally like to do a free 30-minute lesson to get a feel on how much experience they have had on their instrument. This helps me then build a plan for how to progress. If they are brand new, I have a beginner curriculum that I like to follow. From there I create a weekly lesson plan for each student based on their wants/needs. I strive to help each student achieve their goals, whether it is to jam with friends around a campfire, perform live, prepare for a recording session, or prepare for a college audition.

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

Bachelors in Music Performance & Recording arts
