Introduction: I have been a touring musician and music instructor for over 15 years. All ages and skill levels welcome. No sight reading or experience necessary. I offer lessons in guitar and electric bass in most styles (rock, jazz, funk, blues, pop, country) and specialize in advanced bass guitar from fingerstyle to slap. All lessons can involve songwriting if interested, (anywhere from 4/4 pop songs to odd-metered fusion!) I approach teaching from an intuitive standpoint, keeping things fun and applicable while creating a music theory foundation along the way. My goal is to get people playing as quickly as possible and custom tailor each lesson program to each student based on their interests. I think there is music in all of us and my job is to help get it out! I teach at Golden Music lesson studios in Lakewood, CO and we offer single lessons as well as discounts for recurring lessons.

Sean King was one of my daughter's first music teachers when she was in elementary school. She has now been accepted to a selective college Conservatory with a passion for music. He taught her vocals, guitar, bass, private lessons, and garage band lessons. She especially enjoyed his lessons on music theory. He was patient and flexible with her from meeting her hectic scheduling needs to letting her experience her own personal flare with music and helping her develop that. He also shared bits about music professionalism and marketing....he always went the extra mile. He taught my daughter for almost a decade and I believe is one of the reasons she plans a career in musical theatre and fine arts entrepreneurship. He is truly a mentor to her in every way....teacher, musician, all around good person. The experience was more than music lessons and something we reflect on fondly.

Sean was my daughter's music instructor for several years. He is one of the reasons she is going to college to be in musicals. My rate averages $30 for 30 minutes, $45 for 45 minutes, and $60 for an hour and we offer discounts for semesters.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I believe that music should be fun. Most first lessons involve getting to know what the interests and goals of the student are, explain the process, and immediately start making music. I shape my lessons around the individual and their artistic goals.
