Sorry this pro can’t do your job, but we know other pros who can.
Introduction: Hello! My name is MK and I have been sewing since I was 7 years old. My grandmother taught me how to hand stitch on baby blankets and then bought me my first sewing machine at 8 years old. From the moment I stepped on the pedal I was in love. I started creating tote bags for friends and experimenting with different types of fabric. Fast forward many years later I decided to go to school for Fashion Design. Sewing brings me such joy and i would love to assist your sewing needs in any way i can. I look forward to hearing from you!

I had requested a bag alteration by MK. She had inserted grommets into a canvas Marc Jacobs bag, so I could attach a strap on the bag. Not only was the work flawless, but I get so many compliments on the bag. The strap I had purchased (also marc jacobs) only attached to smaller bags but now I have a one of a kind look for my bag thanks to MK. Amazing!!!

MaryKate is lovely! An enthusiastic, professional young lady. Very excited to work with her on my wedding dress. I am confident it will be a labor of love. Can't wait for the final product!!

FAQs

  • What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

Pricing depends on the garment being made.

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

Framingham State: Fashion Design and Retailing

  • How did you get started doing this type of work?

Being a fashion designer was always a dream of mine. My grandmother used to draw lines on baby blankets and have me handstitch over the lines. The next Christmas I recieved my first sewing machine. There was no stopping me now! I began making shirts and handbags with cotton materials from a local fabric store. As years passed I decided that I wanted to go to school to be a fashion designer. My dream came true and I graduated from Framingham State with a degree in Fashion Design. While I was in school I started to make custom streetwear for students to make money to get through school. I can design anything from pet wear to men's wear. I love what I do and I hope I can help with whatever you may need!
