Our daughter who attends Denver School of the Arts has been taking weekly classical guitar lessons from Michael for about a year. Michael has been a great fit for her. He is highly educated skilled technically, and has an approach that makes a tween girl not dread her lessons. Her position, music reading and technique have improved quite a bit over the year. Michael is professional, nice and has a good sense of humor to boot. We had tried lessons with 2 other instructors and he is overall much better than the other teachers.
I've been going to Jeff for piano lessons for about two months now and love them! I went in with absolutely no musical knowledge and have learned so much in such a short amount of time!
I have been taking lessons from Jerimiah since August 2016. He has a wonderfully welcoming and positive attitude, which makes his studio a stress-free environment to improve your playing and challenge yourself. He is very accommodating of students' busy schedules, and is always responsive to text and email. He is very attentive to individual students' goals, and is proficient in a diverse repertoire from musical theater to jazz to classical, both for piano and vocals. He puts on seasonal recitals for his students, which is helpful for student goal-setting and performance confidence. I would recommend Jerimiah to vocal and piano students of any age or skill level. -Dan N.
I have known Jeff since his early childhood, about the time he first picked up a guitar. He has always been intuitive, inventive and refreshing in his own creativity. I know he possesses a tremendous integrity in life and his passion for music. Investing in JR Guitar is not just music lessons but an opportunity to learn dedication from a true musician and inspiration from a wonderful human being. I endorse Jeff whole heartedly and recommend his course to all who desire the same. William L Ruhl- singer/song writer HOTC studio.
This was is my first time at guitar lessons out side of a family member several decades ago. Catherine makes you feel at home. She is well scripted and informative.
Gene from Arvada Guitar has been a tremendous help for me in learning bass guitar. He's very approachable and flexible, and let's you learn what you want to learn, while showing you some cool stuff along the way. He also gives great feedback and encouragement. Highly recommended.
If you are seeking guitar lessons take this into account: You're going to learn the chords and strum patterns regardless of who teaches you. The trick is finding someone who is passionate about music and teaching it to others. Outstanding is not a word I sling around haphazardly, but Dave has earned it. Dave is very passionate about his music, is a very talented musician and he sincerely enjoys passing along his knowledge to others. If you chose Dave as your instructor, you will not be disappointed in any way. His price is a great value.
This middle aged guy decided to pick up something new with bass guitar, and I'm so happy to have lessons with Amber. She is very easy to work with, provided wonderful tools, and the lessons with her have been very good, and very very fun. Great instructor to sit down and even work the basics, and as a beginner making the basic repetitions of skills is very important.
Nate has helped me improve my jazz drumming so much. He is so knowledgeable about different jazz styles and techniques. His lessons are very organized and engaging. I feel very lucky to have him as a teacher.
I have known Eric for over four years now. He taught my son. As a result of my sons work with Eric, he was selected as the Large School guitarist for the Colorado All State Jazz Ensemble. He managed to do that for three years in a row making him the best high school guitarist in the state. Mike is now studying music at the The New School of Jazz and Contemporary Music in New York. I feel strongly that he is excelling at this as a direct result of Eric's work with my Son. I have now taken my sons spot in Eric's busy schedule and am thoroughly enjoying his work on my playing as well. I would recommend Eric to anyone who is ready to become a guitar or bass player.
Our daughter has only had three lessons and is already playing songs. She loves the bass and Mark is a great teacher. It makes it fun for her and I can see her enthusiasm in practice time.
Taking guitar lessons with Andrew has been an awesome experience for me. I started studying with Andrew a few months ago with the hopes of learning jazz guitar, a style that was completely new to me at the time. Since then I have improved exponentially in my playing and understanding of the necessary theory as well as my appreciation for jazz music. Andrew is a great, enthusiastic teacher and his lessons are always well structured and informative. Also, Andrew is just a hub of knowledge. I feel like I learn more from him in an hour than I do during weeks of practicing at home. If you're looking for a guitar teacher, I highly recommend him!
I have taken both classical and blues guitar lessons from Rick for many moons. I like his style ... challenging but also laid back! If you are just starting to play, he is great with beginners! If you are looking to sharpen your existing skills, he's your man as well! You won't be disappointed!
We received percussion lessons from Kevin Keith. He not only is an excellent musician, but he is a wonderful teacher. He is very knowledgeable in many genres of music, from solo literature, to band/orchestral music, to jazz. Of which, he shares his knowledge and experiences with his students freely. He is very hardworking and enthusiastic to ensure that his students get a quality education. He is great in communication, both with the student , in ensuring understanding of lesson materials, and with the parents on updates on how the lessons are progressing. He has a very patient and friendly disposition, that would allow anyone to feel comfortable in working with him. He has been a wonderful teacher and mentor for the past 2.5 years.
I have been working with Alan for over two years now learning the acoustic guitar, classical guitar, and now the bass guitar. Alan is a fantastic guitar teacher in that he is supportive, patient, and very kind. Alan is very committed to his students by catering his lessons to the needs, skill level, and music genres they are interested in. I first met Alan while my oldest daughter was learning to play the acoustic guitar. She absolutely enjoyed working with him and even though she has moved on to clarinet, she still gets excited to see him when she is able to attend lessons with me. Alan is a great guy and I highly recommend him to anyone who is wanting to learn guitar!
Sean is a brilliant bass teacher. He is highly knowledgeable about his instrument and about music theory. He has a knack for understanding what the student needs. I learned the basics much more quickly than I thought I would. Sean is so patient that I always felt that it was safe for me to make mistakes, which greatly accelerated my progress.
Ben is very personable, patient and encouraging. He taught me how to play ukulele, guitar and a little bass. His depth of knowledge in regards to blues, specifically blues guitar, is astounding. You can definitely tell he is passionate about what he does, which in turn drives you to try your hardest.
Zach not only has an incredible knowledge of both technique, and theory, as well as a deep song repertoire already up his sleeve, he also truly has that magic teacher vibe and skill. He explained things to me in a way I could really understand, whereas others had failed to convey the message in a comprehensible way for me. I think he's very adaptable to different learners in that sense. He's also just a straight up good, honest guy, that I enjoy being around. He makes learning fun, easy, and rewarding! I would recommend him to anyone interested in bass, music theory, composition, live performance, recording, etc. Zach really provides a wealth of knowledge for learners of all types.
There are many good guitarists out there. There are many good teachers out there. It is a rare thing, however, to find a good teacher as well as a good guitarist all wrapped up into a neatly organized, always on time, affordably priced package. Chris, while being a masterful guitarist and skilled bandleader, juxtaposes this with a no quit attitude when it comes to what his students are capable of. I have been a student of Chriss for over 8 years now, and I find that every lesson I learn something new. He is also capable of teaching much more than guitar if you ask him to. Unlike your stereotypical guitar teacher who views their teaching as a day job and their music as their passion, with Chris they are one and the same. In fact, when I was in 5th -8th grade, I organized a group of students to be in a band with me called Demolition. Not only did Chris embrace my creativity, he also encouraged it and helped us develop our own songs, rather than copy others. In fact, Chris does not teach guitar so that one can copy others music, but rather teaches you others music in the hope you will use it as inspiration for your own. Chris teaches things that cannot be quantified by normal metrics. He can teach you what 4/4 timing is, but he can also teach you how to Jam Out! and just have a good time. Because at the end of the day, if your not having fun, you wont stick through the hard parts. Chris can, however, teach you a song- note-for-note if that is your style. When I attended Kent Denver high school, Chris taught me every single note of Santanas leads in the song Smooth, which I later performed at the top Jazz club in Denver, Dazzle. Not only did Chris make that possible, but he also drove down from where he lives in Boulder, Colorado and stayed for every last second of the show. It was and is the highlight of my years with Chris. Teaching notes from a book is one thing, but teaching them from ear is another thing entirely. Chris has an amazingly accurate ear. He can tune a guitar better then my most expensive tuner. But most of all Chris recognizes that the student-teacher relationship is a two way street. He is constantly evolving his style as students introduce him to new material. It is that open minded and gentle teaching style that makes Chris the perfect guitar teacher especially for young people. Like Michelangelo said, I am still learning, and so is Chris.
Jeremy has been giving me bass lessons for the past 3 months or so, and in that time we have strived closer to my goal of learning about music theory in each lesson. Jeremy clearly puts effort into preparing his lessons for the needs of individual students, and does a great job delivering those. Furthermore, he understands the subtleties of several different styles of music including jazz, classical, and rock. Jeremy uses that knowledge to talk about how different types of music are played on bass as part of his lessons, which I think is extremely interesting. Ultimately though, what I appreciate most is Jeremy's demeanor. I was initially very nervous to have my bass playing judged by a teacher, but his easy going and somewhat team oriented approach quickly put me at ease with making mistakes and learning from those mistakes. I would definitely recommend Jeremy to anyone wanting to take bass lessons. I'm certain he will put the effort in to help you achieve your specific goals. He seems to enjoy not only the music, but the teaching of it as well.

I offer advanced jazz and classical trumpet, advanced jazz and standard music theory and composition, and basic piano skills with an emphasis on chording. I have experience in big band, jazz combo, orchestra, wind ensemble, and brass chamber ensemble performance. I currently run my own band, The Orchid Room, that features original jazz compositions. I can teach advanced performance skills and functional harmony, focusing on an integrative approach that combines music reading and comprehension, functional theory, listening and transcription skills, and basic piano skills and chording. I can teach musical skills to students of any instrument, but I teach specifics of trumpet and basic piano.
