Melody's Music Lessons
About this pro
I have only taken a handful of lessons with Melody, but I am very impressed with her teachings so far. I came in as a young adult knowing nothing about piano, and Melody has been an exceptionally patient teacher with me. She is so knowledgable and passionate about music that she made it her full time career. That passion and skill shows in all she teaches me, and she is a joy to be around. I would absolutely recommend her as a piano teacher!Apr 10, 2018Verified

- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?I charge $25/30 minute lesson; $35/45 minute lesson; $45/60 minute lesson. Students reserve lessons for the month by paying at the first lesson of each month: cash, check or Venmo. If a lesson is missed, we can try to reschedule if I have been informed of the absence with 24 hours notice.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer? In the beginning, I want to get to know the student's music background (if any) and what goals they have. I like to know what style of music they desire to play/sing and how they best learn. I am fairly flexible in teaching style, seeking to find what works best for different learners.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?I am a member of the National Music Teachers Association and Colorado Music Teachers Association. These organizations provide opportunities for continuing ed, as well as keeping me informed of opportunities for students. I also read articles and have attended a national conference for the past 7 years. I have a minor in Music Education from Kansas State University. Music has always been a part of my life, whether learning, teaching, performing, songwriting, accompanying, directing children's choirs or worship-leading contemporary church bands.
