Sorry this pro can’t do your job, but we know other pros who can.
Introduction: I'm Reggie Berg, your friendly neighborhood piano teacher! But also, the former pianist for Scott Bradlee's Postmodern Jukebox; a band with over nearly 6 million subscribers. Whether you're familiar with the band or not, completed 7 tours took me to every continent other than Antarctica where I performed regularly for 2,000 audience members nightly. IMPORTANT: Not all great performers make great teachers, but I can honestly say that I'm the exception to that rule. Please read below! ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Because life is fast-paced, here are the shortened bullet points of my post: 1. Are you looking for a piano teacher? 2. I offer lessons ONLINE ONLY over Zoom 3. My fee is based on a sliding scale 4. Not sure if you want to do this? YOU GET A FREE 30-MINUTE TRIAL LESSON. Because some enjoy reading detailed information, here's my more long-winded - lengthy post, providing in-depth information about me, my approach to teaching, why I teach, whom I teach, and why you should really consider giving this a chance! Thanks ahead of time for your curiosity and thoughts. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I'm a piano teacher who just moved into the Fort Wayne area. Winter is coming, so to avoid all the annoying snow-burdened traveling, I'm offering lessons over ZOOM. My rates are based on a sliding scale; what's most important to me is that I bring the chance to learn music - no matter the age, level, or initial level of interest. I promise you that having just ONE free trial lesson with me (30 - 40 minutes) will make a great impact on your day and from there, we'll discuss what to do next. Not all students should be taking music lessons, and I can tell this within 30-40 minutes. I make this decision out of experience; I've taught at 5 colleges, and 2 high schools, and ran my own teaching studio for years. Sometimes, the best thing for a student is to try piano, find out it's not the best, go study something more interesting to them at the moment, and then return to the piano at another time in their life. I am not a piano teacher who wants your (or your parents' money.) It's as important to me that I enjoy our lessons and walk always feeling good just as much as you. Money alone doesn't provide that! One thing that makes my teaching approach different than others is that I teach a large range of ages and abilities. I don't have a narrowed focus of "only Master's Level Students," or "I only teach beginners" approach as many of my colleagues have recommended when maintaining a studio. I'm confident that I possess enough patience, interpersonal skills, and knowledge of my craft that I can successfully teach everyone worthy of our time together. I have students who are 11-year-old beginners, medical doctors who are turning 60, and students with Master's Degrees who feel their college teaching wasn't satisfactory. I love them and they love me and we all feel great at the end of each session. Why study with me? Because I teach individuals whose creative voices must be developed as urgently as possible. I have 9 students and everyone is learning from different books, using different supplemental materials that complement those books. Some are composing their own music; some are not. Some are learning pop music while others are learning classical music by J.S. Bach. Some want to learn how to play songs off the radio by ear, and some want to learn how to read music in all seven clefs. I do not adhere to any one methodology such as "All my students use the Faber and Bastien Books." I don't run a factory, and I've never wanted 40-80 students; I want to have a strong connection with each student and make sure they are satisfied emotionally with their learning curriculum. If you stick with me, there's no telling what we can do together. So don't wait, try me out! You don't need to prepare anything and you don't even need to own a keyboard or piano. Much of the first trial lesson is us getting to know each other, not just me getting to know you. We are essentially peers - I'm just more experienced in the world of music-making. Keep in my mind, being your peer doesn't mean I won't need to be authoritative or change the tone of our friendship when needed. I will be your teacher, but I always keep in mind that we are both humans and that is our main connection, even above our curiosity for music. Let's have a great time. Creatively yours, Reggie Berg p.s. I am active on YouTube if you want to seek out performance videos, but you will not find me on Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, Snapchat, or LinkedIn. I'm not a believer in social media. :) #halloween #piano #pianolessons #learning #community #fun #hobby #musicisfundamental #music #musicchangeslives #top-quality #radio #pop music #The Voice #Jazz #PMJ #The Embassy #The Clyde Theatre #Sweetwater Customer #encouragement #teachingexperience #qualified #worththemoney #music as a gift

Having a masters degree in music performance myself, I highly recommend Maestro Berg’s piano pedagogy lessons. He caters to all levels and makes my other instrumental playing better. He also makes the lessons super fun and crazy challenging for my needs. He’s the teacher that practices what he preaches! A+++!!! Can’t recommend enough!

Reggie teaches in such an engaged way. I love the pieces he helps me find - he really listens to understand why I want to play piano and he creates lesson plans to support these goals and motivations.

Reggie is a fantastic teacher. We talked about what I wanted to learn and he recommended some songs and improvisation exercises to work on together. He has tons of good ideas for different skills to learn and ways to practice them. AND he's an amazing musician and it's super inspiring to see him demonstrate the things we're working on, whether it's jazz tunes, classical etudes, or improvisation.
