Rope N Saddle Tree Service
About this pro
Paul was absolutely outstanding! Called him in the morning. Job was done by the afternoon! Couldn’t have been happier!Jul 24, 2018Verified
Paul was awesome. He knocked out a 40 ft tree within the day for a very reasonable price. I would recommend Paul to anyone!Apr 7, 2018Verified
Asked them to remove a 45 ft. spruce which was too close to the house, but keep firewood for me. I did not have them grind the stump, but they cut it down very low to the ground so very nice. They did a top notch job, are super great guys, and cleaned up very well.Jan 11, 2017Verified
I originally rated this company 5 stars, until the horrible way Paul Liberatore reacted to me when I told him he cut my sprinkler lines when removing my tree and stump. Instead of reacting in a professional manner to help me solve the problem he sent me rude emails and messages on Thumbtack. He blamed me for the lines being cut stating that I should have hired a locate service to mark the sprinkler lines for him. I was never told I needed to hire a "locate service" to come out and mark my sprinkler lines. Paul should have mentioned all of this when he came out to my home to quote the job, not after my sprinkler lines have been cut. What is worse is the very rude response when I asked him if he could help. He became very defensive and unprofessional! My first disappointing hire from Thumbtack.... Homeowner beware, wolf in sheep's clothing!Apr 18, 2017VerifiedPAUL L.'s reply
This is the original review. Sonja S. Tree Trimming and Removal Paul and the Guys from Rope N Saddle are Amazing, Hard Working Guys! "Paul and his guys did a great job cutting down my tree and removing the stump and roots. It was huge, it was hanging over my home, and I would worry every time the wind would blow. I pretty much knew I was going to hire Paul after he came out to quote, but I still went through the process and got 3 other quotes. Paul is very competitively priced, but I hired him because my instinct and our conversation told me everything would be just perfect once he was done, and it was! These guys were quick, efficient, safe, and cleaned up very well as they were working, and when done. They gave me a lot of good info on my other trees and bushes while they were there. Now I am just looking for an excuse to have them back out to do some more work for me. They will be my go to from here on out! Thank you Paul and the guys :)" Posted to my review board March 29, 2017 by Sonja Smith...5 Stars. She posted this today, April 17, 2017...Hi Paul, It looks like one of the sprinkler lines got cut from the tree machine. Can you please give me a call, I am going to need to get this fixed as soon as possible 720-402-7366. Thanks, Sonja Smith ...to which I replied... Hi Sonja I recall informing you before we performed the removal of the tree and grinding of the stump that Rope n Saddle Tree Service will not be held responsible for any sprinkler lines, or electrical lines for landscape lighting that might get damaged from the stump grinder due to their proximity to the stump...to which you gave a verbal assent. You will need to request a sprinkler service through Thumbtack to do the repairs. Thank you. Have a blessed day. Paul (720) 385-9673...to which she posted...Paul, You never mentioned my sprinkler system verbally, in your e-bid or our email chain. If you had mentioned you didn't have the knowledge to remove the stump without effecting our existing sprinkler system don't you think I would have went with my initial plan and left the stump there? I hired you and let you do the stump and root as well because you seemed like a hard working, knowledgeable man. I also thought you seemed like a stand up guy. If you mean to tell me that you do not plan to stand behind your work and fix something you harmed at my home well I am frankly shocked. I have never worked with a licensed and insured contractor that would treat a customer that way. Is that your intention sir? So I sent her an email stating... Hi Sonja if it is your intent is to slander me and Rope n Saddle Tree Service personally and publicly...that is your choice. What is the approximate extent of the sprinkler damage prior to you being so upset? She replied via email... Sonja Smith 7:09 PM (2 hours ago) to me Paul, What do you mean slander you personally and publicly? I haven't slandered anyone sir, what are you referring to? I don't know the extent of the damage as I cannot see under the soil, I only know that the sprinklers to the left of my tree no longer work since you removed the stump, and therefore must have been cut. I am not upset, I am a little shocked at your response due to the fact you seemed like a good guy who ran a respectable company. I wouldn't have hired you if I thought you were anything but. Definitely surprised at your reaction to this situation, I would hope you would deal with this in a professional manner sir. Sonja Smith...i replied via email... Paul Liberatore 8:20 PM (1 hour ago) to willnsonja Hi Sonja...I am dealing with this professionally. I do apologise about your sprinklers. However, you never had a locate service mark/flag where any of the sprinkler lines are prior to me grinding the stump and chasing the roots. I couldn't have possibly known where they're located any more than you do. Had you done your due diligence, and had the lines marked by a locate service, I would have been a stand up guy, and avoided them. Therefore, since you didn't have them marked, and you expected me to avoid buried sprinkler lines that neither of us could see, then I respectfully suggest you call a sprinkler repair man to repair them. Good luck. Have a blessed day. She replied via Thumbtack to write that which Thumbtack calls an "updated review." I call it slander, because I did inform her verbally of the necessity of a locate service prior to stump grinding. I have witnesses that can corroborate my testimony. Nevertheless she wanted me to grind the stump and chase the roots regardless. Due to this unfortunate misunderstanding, all Thumbtack requestors for stump grinding from Rope n Saddle Tree Service must sign a waiver prior to stump grinding..stating that if customer does not perform due diligence and hire a locate service to mark/flag location of all sprinkler lines, electrical lines, gas/water/sewer lines prior to stump grinding, no stump grinding service will be performed. Thank you for your consideration in this matter. Paul Liberatore (720) 385-9673 email@example.com
Paul was very nice to work with. He was also very competitive in pricing. I plan on hiring him for a couple other jobs in the near future. I would highly recommend him! UPDATE: I tried to contact Paul again a few months back to hire him for additional work and he was very unresponsive. I will not attempt to work with him for any future projects. Reducing stars due to this.Apr 24, 2018VerifiedPAUL L.'s reply
Thanks for lashing out with your hypocritical and impatient revenge reply. Have a blessed day.
