Sorry this pro can’t do your job, but we know other pros who can.
Introduction: I have helped aspiring veterinary, dental, and physical therapy students edit their personal statements and other essays required for graduate school applications. I also have helped over a half dozen undergraduate students edit theirs. Applicants write their best draft of personal statements and other essays, and I refine them. I am a pro at capturing on paper the essence of my clients, and love the challenge of transforming an inarticulate or poorly written personal statement into a well-written masterpiece. All my applicants have been admitted to a school of their choice. I am precise, detail-oriented, and have excellent writing, editing, and grammar skills. I have written for demanding editors, who trained me well. I am an expert at staying within character or word counts and meeting required deadlines. All work is completed remotely. I utilize the telephone and Internet to interact with clients, who often must provide more facts and details for me to incorporate into a piece and still make it fit a word or character count. I only take on a limited number of clients a year. I also tutor students in writing, English, and resume writing. Again, I only take on a limited number of clients a year.

When the time came for my daughter to apply to professional schools, we wanted an expert writer and editor to teach her how to polish the required essay she had written to accompany her application. We hired Savan Associates, and couldn't have been happier with the results. Savan Associates worked back-and-forth by email with my daughter, had her rewrite her essay three times to incorporate information missing from the prior drafts, and provided questions and comments on each draft to help her fill in any remaining blanks. Then Savan Associates coached her on how to condense that information into a final draft. Not only was her final essay concise, dynamic, and jammed with pertinent details, all within the maximum character count, but it precisely captured my daughter, her background and experience, her love of animals, and the reasons she should be accepted to vet school. Most valuable was how Savan Associates educated my daughter on writing and editing. This tutoring process not only enabled her to refine her essay into the product she desired for her veterinary school application, but also helped her improve her written communication skills for the long-term. Best of all, my daughter was accepted into five vet schools, including one of the top-ranked schools in the country. We know her excellent grades, GRE scores, and personal interviews had much to do with her acceptances, but we have no doubts her essay helped distinguish her from the competition. S. L. Z. Orange, CA

Our daughter's on-line applications to two private high schools were comprised of a series of tiny boxes that limited the space for answers. We needed to fit everything we wanted to say into the paltry space allowed. Somehow, Savan Associates managed, by deadline, to help us pack our daughter's many attributes into the allowable space. She got accepted to both schools. The following year, Savan Associates helped us with our older son's on-line applications to the same two schools, working with us to condense his myriad talents into detailed yet succinct paragraphs. He, too, got accepted to both schools. Needless to say, we'll return to Savan Associates when the time comes to complete the private-school applications for our younger son as well as any other writing/editing we might need along the way. We can't give a better recommendation than that. > > Ricki T. > St. Louis, Missouri

Over the years, we have retained Savan Associates to edit and rewrite numerous projects published on the Internet and in various publications. As legal and financial researchers, we constantly are having to publish research to assist our clients and to structure that research in various formats, ranging from technical synopses to articles geared toward laypersons. I have used less expensive, but never better than Savan Associates. Arden M. Gray, CEO The Advisors Group Denver, Colorado

FAQs

  • What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

I have two different pricing systems: one for general editing work and one for legal editing work. The general editing work is less expensive. Legal editing work requires more technical expertise and, therefore, is more expensive. I love doing both kinds of editing.

  • How did you get started doing this type of work?

I have been writing and editing since I was old enough to hold a pencil. I didn't decide to get into my line of work. Writing and editing is as natural to me as breathing. The work decided on me.

  • Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

Editing a 22-page, single-spaced trial brief a Denver attorney client told me wouldn't have been near as persuasive or articulate without my assistance. Helping a student in Ukuah, California, prepare essays -- both large and small -- for admission to veterinary school. She was admitted to three of her top picks.
