After posting my original review I was contacted by the owner of Foothills Painting (Ben). After my original experience with the painting I didn't think Foothills painting could make things right. We had already moved into the house and my wife is pregnant so we couldn't put any more paint in the house to fix the original job. When Ben called me he was serious about trying to make the whole situation right though. After talking through everything that had gone wrong he offered to give a partial refund of the original job to make it at cost and offered to do another job at cost where he would be there himself to make sure it was done right. I expect at most a partial refund of the first job. Given their reviews I know that my situation was an outlier, so I'm sure my next job will be done very well, especially with Ben on site to manage. I appreciate the extent Ben is willing to go to correct past mistakes, even when I didn't expect or really allow much wiggle room. At this point I plan to use Foothills for my next job and anticipate it will be done very well.May 1, 2018Verified

Thank you so much Annyce, it was great working with you!
I was very happy to have found Ben and Foothills Painting. From the get go Ben and his office were great to work with. We did the walk through with all of the insurance papers needed and decided on what needed to be done as well as what they were paying for and what I was paying for. This was very helpful. After hiring Foothills Painting they remained professional throughout the job. Scheduling was very important to my wife and I since we have 4 dogs, and need to be home during times like these. Foothills was right on schedule as well as being respectful of our animals. They did a great job with the painting of the house, as well as being quick to touch up any minor spots I might have noticed. I would recommend Ben and Foothills Painting to anyone that is looking for a professional outfit to help with the painting needs.Jan 16, 2015Verified
Ok, so after my wife and I closed on our first house back in December, we immediatly knew that we were going to have to paint... Our house was built in the late 80's and according to the seller it had only been painted once... Needless to say it looked terrible!!! So after submitting a request here on thumbtack, I was quickly called by Hillary. She was PHENOMENAL! She came out to the house and answered my wife's and I's questions, and she even helped my wife pick colors! (I couldn't have cared less about the color haha) During the process we worked with Kyle and he was polite, knowledgable... during the project which took a little less than 4 days. The crew was on time everyday, friendly, and made sure to take extra care around my 68' Chevy project car that was under a tarp in the drive way. Now that the jobs done, our house looks FANTASTIC it almost looks like it was coated in plastic! I would definitely recommend Foothills Painting!Apr 5, 2018Foothills Painting LLC's reply
Thank you Sean for the kind words. It was a pleasure working with you!
Our experience did not start off well with this company but ended on a good note. Unfortunately, the quality of the paint job, communication, and length of time it took to complete the job were all poor and we were left feeling disappointed. We were pleasantly surprised when the owner called and worked with us to try to make things right. I truly think that the owner cares about the quality of the work performed by his company and was unaware of what transpired at our house until after the fact. I still wish the process of having our house painted and the finished product would have been better but at least the owner cared enough to apologize and refund some of our money.Aug 9, 2015
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)? It is important to know that for a typical two story home in Colorado can vary greatly in price. I could come up with a quote as low as $2000-$2500, or as high as $6000-$8000 depending on the materials being use, the level of prep work required, and complexity of the job. This is why we do a detailed written estimate, to confirm you are getting exactly what you want, and we can provide multiple options you can compare side by side.
- How did you get started doing this type of work? After spending 6 years working with a national painting company, I realized I was really good at running a painting business... and there are a lot of really bad painting companies out there. So I thought it'd be a good opportunity, and something I knew I was good at. We've just grown and grown from there.
- What types of customers have you worked with?We are experts are residential exterior painting. Most of the homes we paint are 7-20 years old, getting their 2nd or 3rd paint job ever. Common problems on the house is peeling paint on trim boards, door trim, window trim, garage trim, fading paint on the south or sunny sides of the house, and cracking joints where boards meet. These are all common problems in Colorado and can be fixed very easily. If they are not fixed, however, they can lead to expensive carpentry problems.
