We hired Jana for a small private yoga class for a bachelorette weekend and she was seriously AMAZING!! She played fun music while teaching a perfect class for both beginners and people with intermediate experience. She was fun, knowledgeable and made our experience one of a kind. Probably the highlight of our weekend. LOVED HER!
I highly recommend Adriana, you will not find a yoga and reddinkin instructor who cares more about you. The meditation and yoga following the group section were wonderful and really rounded off the whole experience. We can not wait to schedule another team building day with Adriana.
I have really enjoyed having Makaan as a yoga instructor. Makaan's style focuses on the meditative and mindful aspects of practicing (as opposed to a more athletic, performance approach). He brings his years of personal practice and a great sense of humor to the mat, and I admire the positivity in his practice. He teaches me patience, a Herculean effort in its own right. I'd recommend his classes for flexibility and introspection.
I was hesitant to go to public yoga classes. Jessica has an awesome private beginner series that helped me understand what to expect from a public class and how to feel safe and comfortable on my mat on my own.
Kat was my personal yoga instructor and chef for almost a year before her departure from Milwaukee to Colorado. Let me say first, there is not a day that goes by without me missing her services. Kat is kind, compassionate and incredibly talented. Her yoga services allowed me as a true beginner to enjoy and feel the benefits of yoga. She was patient with me and a great teacher of positions that allowed my body to stretch and release. I am a stage two diabetic and the yoga had a profound effect upon my condition for the good. After learning that Kat had head chef talents, I asked her to come twice a week to my home and prepare meals for myself and my son. The meal plans were excellent and the food, well, there are few fine restaurants that could compete. Kat was very fair with the economics of the work as well. It made for pleasant meals when coming home from work. My son continues to ask where is she and can she come back to Milwaukee for a time to come and prepare food. It is critical in any review that one have trust, confidence and successful communication. Kat gets an A+ from me in all regards. You will be lucky and fortunate to have here skills. My suggestion is do not hesitate. We enjoyed her immensely and miss her yoga and cooking talents. Thanks for listening.
Steph had such a natural and easy connection with me as instructor and friend, and very impressively is able to correct or supplement my positions and understanding of the yoga session. The language they use to guide the poses and direct my movement is easy to understand and incredibly helpful, as it's direct in what I am struggling with, and instructional in the best way. The sessions are so comfortable with Steph, always very aware of respect and consent, so it's always a safe space and interaction!
We love Nichole! We met her through Thumbtack a few months ago. I'm not sure we would have found her otherwise. She is very knowledgeable and she takes time to cater to the individual needs and levels within our private yoga group of adults and teens. She has corrected a number of issues with my form and I feel great. We look forward to every session! Seriously, we LOVE her!
Jessica brings a dedication to her own yoga practice to the class. As instructor, she was attentive to individual needs and capabilities. I felt secure in her guidance.
I can't speak highly enough of Rose. I know Rose as a friend, colleague, and teacher. She is professional, personable, and brings lightness, fun, and humor to her teaching, as a yoga and fitness instructor. Rose's experience with her own shoulder injury have also deeply enriched her teaching; she is very knowledgable about anatomy, modifications, and designs classes that are challenging yet accessible. Rose and I shared the front desk after both of our Friday morning fitness classes at CorePower Yoga, and I witnessed the positive feedback her students gave her, praising her for butt-kicking, fun, anatomically-savvy sequences, as well as her music. She was a beloved teacher at CorePower in the Bay Area, as well as Equinox. I know that students at Equinox had praised Rose as their favorite yoga instructor, and were sad to hear of her move to Boulder, CO. Any student under Rose's direction, whether in private or group environments, will find the space she constructs to be supportive and conducive to connecting them with their body in ways that are challenging and fun.
I'm 44 years old and was diagnosed for the first time with cancer in February this year. It was stage 3C ovarian. There was a major surgery to remove 6 tumors and the affected organs / organ parts, and then rather intense chemo treatments followed. Just before being released from doctor's care I was again diagnosed with cancer, this time an aggressive, stage 1 breast cancer. I choose to have a double mastectomy and to follow that with another round of chemo. It's been a year in coming to terms with my health and my health care regime, and Janae has been such a huge part of that. Through this process of surgery, recovery and chemo, I lost all muscle tone and endurance. Yoga is amazing for so many reasons. It was my preferred method for recovery, but I couldn't find classes that fit my specific chemo schedule and changing physical limitations. It always seemed that the appropriate classes for me were being offered when I was under the influence of chemo and unable to participate. If that wasn't an obstacle, my physical needs and limitations were. A yoga instructor can often tailor their classes to meet the needs of their specific students, but I required a LOT of tailoring and individual attention. Janae's one-on-one service was the answer to these challenges in recovery for me. She kept me motivated when I didn't feel like exercising, tailored each session to my needs and mood for the day, and when we were done I felt healthy and strong... like I could take on the world. Janae is knowledgable, gentle in her guidance, and listens so very well to individual need. I highly recommend her services to anyone wanting or needing a more personal yoga experience!
I had a friend visiting for a marthon and scheduled a private lesson in the park for us with Jessie. I've taken group yoga from her before and this was just as incredible, if not better! She tailored our hour to fit our needs and strengths and challenged us as well! She makes great adjustments so you are doing poses correctly, challenges me with new poses each time, and her voice soothes my soul!! Just adore Jessie and her vast yoga knowledge!
I've been part of Kristen's classes for five years now, and she continues to be my favorite instructor. Her vinyasa flow sequences never fail to challenge and inspire. The quotes she finds to kick off class always seem to resonate with me - she has a knack for finding statements that speak to people of all backgrounds, and in using them she unites us in practice from the very beginning. I can't recommend Kristen enough if you're looking for a yoga practice that will leave you invigorated, sometimes sore, and completely at peace.
My weight and health has always been a source of anxiety for me. Having a small boned body and being short but not obese, has proved it very difficult for me to find the right food and dietary plan to help me get back on a road to health and lose weight. Initially I had little hope, but Melissa was right there by my side. It was hard but with her help, support and guidance I have been seeing amazing results. She has been right at my side encouraging, guiding me and being my biggest cheerleader. Her exercise plan is challenging and gives the best results. I have re-found my waistline and my flabby arms have started to get definition again. My goal was to fit into my white skinny jeans, and with the help of Melissa, I fit into them again. I never thought that would be possible. Most of all she gave me easy to achieve goals small steps as she calls them. Melissa never discourages me to not eat what I want, instead she preaches moderation and gives you alternatives- if you fall off the wagon one day, jump back on the next is what she tells me. She is patient and firm at the same time. She has given me the tools to live a life that is vibrant and healthy and energetic. From cooking lessons, one-on-one training sessions and shopping trips she has been just what I needed. I highly recommend her to everyone.
Megan is super fun and very easy to interact with as a private yoga teacher. She has a vivaciousness about her and inner strength that translates to the yoga she teaches. I had a serious "yoga high" after our first session together from the yoga + crystal therapy savasana. Spunky and insightful mixed with a mature energy, Megan is exactly what you need to get through your power vinyasa flows and then help you settle down and relax with a great savasana. Definitely recommend!

Private instruction is useful for developing a home practice and for learning to adapt group class postures to serve your individual needs. It is especially beneficial for individuals who want to practice yoga at home or those who have special health concerns or injuries. Each lesson is tailored to your unique interests and needs. Our private clients typically have one of three goals: * Home Practice Development Students frequently want to practice yoga more often than they can come to group classes. Practicing at home is a useful and cost effective supplement to group classes at the studio. A home practice consultation includes evaluation of your personal goals, strategizing how to make your practice consistent, and a written practice plan. Shaw will guide you through the practice once, so you leave familiar with how to practice on your own safely and effectively. Home practice consultations are most effective when done in conjunction with group yoga classes. * Personalized Yoga Coaching Group class students frequently benefit from personalized help to deepen their yoga practice. Coaching sessions include feedback on how to properly perform yoga postures and adaptations for the client's individual goals and body. Students who have attended coaching sessions report that the sessions help them make huge strides in improving their yoga practice. * Special Needs Instruction Some individuals have needs that are not met by group classes. Shaw works one on one with students who have a variety of needs. Examples of past client issues include: Stress management Sports training Managing menopausal symptoms Arthritis and other acute and chronic physical injuries About Shaw: Shaw Lathrop is a certified yoga instructor who has been practicing and teaching yoga for the past ten years. Shaw draws from many yoga traditions which allows him to craft lessons to accommodate different learning styles and preferences. He places a large emphasis on having fun while practicing yoga and loves offering yoga students the opportunity to "break out of the box" with their practice. In addition to being a certified yoga instructor, Shaw is also a certified personal trainer, sports nutritionist, and ayurvedic lifestyle counselor. He is currently pursuing a doctoral degree in ayurvedic medicine.
I understand what it's like to be a new yogi- just a few years ago, I was in your shoes. It took courage to keep showing up at classes where I felt out of place. In fact, it took me years to get back on the mat after my initial exposure. I made the mistake of 1) overestimating my athletic ability, and 2) attending over-crowded classes at my gym, which were anything but introductory. Looking back, these were quite advanced classes. But how was I to know? What I know now is if I had understood the fundamentals- the lingo, how to prevent injury, and how the postures are supposed to feel- before attending classes with more advanced students, I would have grown to love yoga much sooner than I did. I eventually got back on the mat and a few years later, I've completed my Yoga Teacher Training and am starting my business working one on one with brave people like you, who seek the (vast) benefits yoga offers. Yoga Teacher Training (YTT) requires 200 hours of contact time and additional outside hours studying and completing personal experiments. My training, which I completed in June 2014 with Axis Yoga Trainings in Denver, covered more than just learning the ins and outs of the Asanas (the physical postures most people commonly refer to as "yoga"). We discussed philosophy, history, and spirituality, learned breathing techniques (called Pranayama), and studied the ancient system of natural healing called Ayurveda. Besides assisting you with customized yoga (Asana) sessions, I'm more than happy to share my knowledge about the other, lesser known, aspects of yoga that are frequently not covered in traditional group yoga classes. I'm very patient and place importance on making other people comfortable and confident in their practice. There is no one-size-fits-all to yoga; each of us has been given unique bodies that come with various challenges and strengths. My aim is to know each of my students well enough that I can develop customized sessions that are safe, enjoyable, and suitable to each persons goals.

The Power of Women and Yoga---Nothing makes a woman more beautiful than her Divine Connection to herself. In this space she is soft and glowing, loving and powerful, she has made the transition from princess to queen. She knows how to use her pain creatively and with containment. She heals with her words of wisdom and teaches through her radical forgiveness. She is a WOMAN with the creative power to heal the world. Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others. Marianne Williamson
