My son started taking piano lessons from Ashley earlier this year, and I was so impressed with her, I've been taking lessons too! My son is also going to start taking guitar lessons after the first of the year as well. I also appreciate the prompt responses when I have questions and the affordable prices. I highly recommend Sollohub School of Music!
We have hired Gary Schmidt to teach all three of our children piano lessons. He is able and willing to meet all three of them right where they are in regards to their ages (11, 8, and 5) and interests, and offers scheduling flexibility whenever possible. He is a very kind and approachable person and a superbly seasoned teacher. We are very happy we found him!
In July, I purchased a digital piano and was referred to Dr. Heger for piano lessons. I hadn't played the piano in over 50 years! It was absolutely the very best fit for me. With Dr. Heger's assistance, each time I feel more comfortable at the keys! She is the most delightful, marvelous, intuitive, kind person, and an incredible pianist in her own right. She was able to 'meet me' exactly where I was with respect to my abilities, and encourages me every time to 'trust myself'. Each time I go I feel more self-confidence and I feel cared for as I go through this re-learning process. With her encouragement, her humor, and talent I feel like playing will be part of the rest of my life! Thank you for giving me back the music! I would highly recommend her to any level of student, from total beginner to someone returning to the piano after years.
My 12-year-old has taken piano lessons through Gould and Fall Piano studio for the last two years. Mr. Gould and Mrs. Fall handle their studio with professionalism. They are warm and friendly with the children and are attentive to each individual student's needs. They use a variety of teaching methods. The recitals at the Union Colony Civic Center provide a professional atmosphere in a beautiful theater. In the many years that my children have taken piano lessons, we have never worked with a better studio. My highest recommendation. You won't be disappointed.
Karen has taught my children piano for several years and they've all made fantastic progress. She's a very patient teacher and knows many ways to make learning music fun for all!
Hannah Joy is an excellent piano teacher for my two children. She is an extremely talented musician with a wealth of academic and performance experience in both piano and voice. She brings her personal experience with learning and practicing piano as a child to bear, which the kids appreciate and can relate to. She is patient, yet expects the kids to respect the hard work it takes to learn the new language of music. She makes lessons fun, paces the learning well, understands the differences between each child and their abilities and personalities, and tailors lessons to the child. I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for high quality piano lessons for their children. We feel lucky that she will be staying in Boulder to complete her graduate work in music education!
Kate has been a great teacher for my 10-year old who is a beginning piano student. Kate is patient, explains things well, pushes students to advance, and has frequent recitals to encourage students to "shoot for" something. She also teaches voice. Her central Fort Collins location is perfect. I highly recommend her!
My daughter loves talking piano lessons from Heather. She works at my daughter's pace and customizes for hat style of learning. Heather is flexible and communicates well with our family.
We were looking for a different way for our kids to learn piano; less stressful and more fun. Ms. Brenda was very responsive to our situation. With the Illuminata Music Studio, our kids have really learned to "speak" piano. Our house if full of music. The kids sit down and get the piano talking, laughing, crying... using the patterns and skills they've learned with Ms. Brenda. If you are a parent who wants your kids to learn the language of piano, Illuminata Music Studio is the place for you. We highly recommend it!
Dr. Pacheco (Miss Jessica) was my son's first piano teacher when she was a PhD student at University of Georgia. She was patient, understanding, and inspirational. She customized lessons for my son and he enjoyed being with Miss Jessica for private lessons, group lessons, and music camps. Miss Jessica was also a very caring teacher. Before she left last summer, she made sure that we found a good piano teacher. When she came back to Athens for commencement last December, my son made a carnation garland for her and had another piano lesson with her. We miss her.
Arias and Arpeggios provides piano and voice lessons for my children. Their favorite experience was performing on an outdoor stage for a crowd.
When I was about 6, Rhonda became my very first piano teacher. Now, 25 years later, I look back at my years of piano with her with so much fondness and appreciation. She was ever-patient, kind, and encouraged creativity and love for music. The foundation she helped me build has stayed with me, even when years pass between playing. I so wish that I lived near her now so I could resume lessons! Anyone who has the opportunity to work with her is truly blessed!
I studied with Raisa for a few years growing up and it was her teaching that made notes and sheet music transform into musicianship for me. She helped me understand how to put feeling in everything I played and how to really play from my heart. Not only her piano lessons but her life lessons were passed onto me through her love of music and her gigantic heart.
I have 13 years of experience in teaching piano and making piano fun. I also do alterations and window treatments. I have 13 years of costuming for the Greeley West's Poms dance squad.
They say I make it look easy; expressions of the heart and soul that reach listeners. The Piano Place has taught children and adult learners as well how to play classical and pop music styles. Some jazz pieces are covered as well. We have fun and pass the pleasure to others several times each year through recitals as desirable.
I use several unique approaches to music education that have been very successful with students. I give students numerous opportunities to perform in a casual, positive environment. Students are encouraged and supported.

I have 3 programs - traditional private piano lessons (ages 6 1/2 and up), Let's Play Music (ages 4-6) and Sound Beginnings (ages 2-4) Let's Play Music is a 3-year music theory course for starting ages 4-6, that emphasizes total musicianship through piano playing, singing, classical music, note reading, and ear training, and that's accomplished through play! Let's Play Music is based on the philosophies of Kodaly, Dalcroze and Orff. Students learn to read rhythms by saying bug notes (four 16th notes is "cat-er-pil-lar"), learn chord progressions through colors (I is a red chord, IV is a blue chord, V is a yellow chord) and much more. They start on the autoharp and bell set for their 1st year and transfer the skills they learned to the piano on the 2nd and 3rd year. They learn advanced theory skills while also developing their ear skills. By the end of the program, the students compose their own song and play it at the recital. Let's Play Music is a great program both for students who want to go on and study classical music and those who want to play popular music since it teaches the necessary skills for both. Ear training, composing, transposing, and an understanding of chords are very important skills for the contemporary 21st-century musician that are often neglected in traditional piano lessons. These are huge focuses in Let's Play Music and in my private piano lessons as well.
I offer piano lessons out of a studio in Westminster, CO. My goal is to help each student find what motivates them musically. It's all about enjoying what you're doing!
