Hiring a personal trainer was not an easy step for me to take, because what I had seen of personal trainers and at big gyms was a big turn-off. What set him apart initially was that he offered a ‘no gimmicks, no pressure’ approach, was a (or soon to be a) registered dietician, offered additional services as a personal chef, and could do workouts either at his location or mine. When I started, I was in a hectic transition period with my job and so my schedule was unpredictable. Mike completely understood, and worked with me to schedule workout sessions in a very no-pressure way. During workouts, he pays attention (to safety, to how I am feeling and handling it…), and makes adjustments as needed based on the individual person. He started me on a level I could handle and we are building from there. The workouts are interesting and varied, which makes them fun (imagine that!), and I appreciate his positive reinforcement and encouragement, as it pushes me in a positive way to do the best I can. Based on my experience so far, I can say that Mike cares very much about the progress of his students and goes the extra mile to help them reach their goals. In the short amount of time I have been working with him, I have lost 17 pounds (more to go) and I am becoming stronger. As a result am gaining confidence and setting new goals which I am excited to reach! I would definitely recommend Mike and Start Fresh Fitness.
Nancy is life changing. I am a type A, very particular (okay, demanding) lawyer who seeks out the best in everything. I have lived in NYC, DC, and Chicago tried personal chefs for weekly meal prep in every city. I also have tried all the high end meal delivery (fresh diet, LA-based sunfresh, diet to go, etc). I can say with 100 percent certainty that Nancy's meals are healthier and more tasty than anything I have tried. If I can't lose a few pounds and get healthy with her delicious food packed beautifully in my fridge, it is all on me. Because Nancy has made it so easy to eat beatiful and healthy meals every day. She uses intersting flavors, textures, and spices. This is no "chicken breast and brocoli" dinner. I can't thank her enough for her high level of service and better-than-restaurant quality of food. I have struggled for quite awhile to find this great support in my busy life and finally found it. Thank you Nancy.
We have devoured the last of Chef Barb's delicious dinners. What a treat that was!! We tried not to eat them all up at once but savour them and only use them when needed but it was hard. They were all wonderful but our favorites were the beef medallions and the shrimp dish. Mmmmmmmmmmmm. I can't thank you enough for the thoughtful, generous, and kind gift of the meals. I didn't even know that personal chefs existed--and here we have one right in Fort Collins--what a brilliant get well gift. And we so appreciated the break from fixing a meal and the clean up!
I hit the jackpot when I found Lenny with Xim catering. He went way above and beyond to accommodate our somewhat complex needs for my Mother's 80th birthday. He was so incredibly gracious, kind, and professional. Xim had some challenges with the venue we had chosen but they really make it work so well despite the none kitchen, tiny space and complex menu. All our guests raved about the food and the extremely friendly service. I give Lenny and Xim 10 stars for service and execution. Thank you very much
Our experience with Holly for our wedding cake was AMAZING. For one, her prices are beyond reasonable; instead of paying $600 for an average tasting cake from a pricey bakery, we were able to spend far less without sacrificing any quality and still being able to feed just as many guests. Guests made comments for a week after the event about how good both flavors of our cake were; I even had one of my male friends who is not at ALL a baker or chef by any means text me a few days after the event asking 'what was up with the frosting' because it was so good and he was telling everyone at work about the cake! Throughout the planning process Holly let us taste as many flavor combinations as we wanted and always sent us home with what was left of the tasting cakes - none of which she ever charged us for. Our final choice was a few layers of marble cake with raspberry filling (which is so good you almost just want to eat it by the spoonful) and a layer of vanilla bean cake with honey caramel filling which was also amazing. As a caramel addict, I told Holly from the start that that's what I loved. Her response was to make and let us taste three different kinds of caramel filling, all of which could have been adjusted for the exact flavor we wanted; I don't think many other bakeries are that creative and committed to making the perfect cake! We were thrilled with the final result and I know our guests were too - I would absolutely recommend Holly any day for weddings, birthdays, or whatever else you need!
Grant cooked a truly gourmet dinner in my home for a special birthday. Everyone was so impressed (even did something special & fun for the kids)! He worked with us on special menu requests & was professional & timely. I hope to use him again & give my highest recommendation to all the "foodies" looking for an in home chef. He is the real deal!
Chef Alec catered my wedding, and he did a fantastic job. People came up to me all throughout the reception and the next day telling me how much they loved the food. At most weddings I've been to, the dinner is usually not something to comment on or is not something people remember, but it was definitely a highlight of our wedding day. We had a very unique flavor profile in mind since my husband is from Hawai'i, and Chef Alec was able to capture exactly what we were looking for. We were able to share with our guests the flavors we love and now some of them are going to seek out Hawaiian food and even asked if he has a restaurant where they can be served the same meal again - I don't know how much higher of a compliment I can give than that! He was also professional and thoughtful and we felt like we were in great hands the whole way through the planning process. Mahalo Chef Alec!
Chef Mcbride has hosted several Robert Burns Dinner for my group in the past, which all have been wonderful affairs. Eric's many years of experience and study in Celtic history has given him a very broad knowledge of the culture and cuisine of the Celtic world. As an author of several cookbooks, he ha a very wide repertoire of entrees from which to choose to cater your event. Highly recommended.
Orange Crunch did an amazing job on our wedding. They were flexible, helpful, and everything went off without a hitch! Not to mention, the food was delicious. They came to our home for the tasting beforehand too, to make sure everything was just perfect. Thanks Leshner and Sarah!!
We have used Lennon's service as a gourmet chef to celebrate our 45th weeding anniversary with a four course gourmet meal which consisted of an appetizer, salad, Chateaubriand, and a pear upside down cake (forgot what she called it). Her skills at preparation, presentation, aroma, flavor and ambience were fabulous. We have utilized her services on two subsequent occasions and will certainly retain her in the future. The value we received was more than reasonable and she was very professional in all aspects of all thee occasions.
Andrea was the only chef who responded to my request on thumbtack, during the holiday season. She accommodated our dietary restrictions , her food was 5 star, We were so happy with her service and ability we hired her for our personal chef and now have one other family interested and possibly more. I recommend Andrea Daane at the Prep shop.
Chef April is absolutely amazing in her craft and in how she interacts with her clients! While with her, my experience included a breakfast meal of homemade french toast with blueberry compote. She answered questions that I had while making this meal and gave me ideas for making these in the future. For someone who loves to cook but needs some work, she was super helpful. Our meal was beyond delicious and by far the best french toast I have ever had. It was fresh, warm. and the flavors were perfectly sweet. She has a great spirit and it shows in her work and communication with you. I believe she has something to offer anyone and you are lucky to have the chance to have her as your Chef!
Callan's ability to create delicious food is really unparalleled. Gluten free and vegetarian dishes significantly more delicious than any I've had before. All around excellent chef and wonderful human being!
Alan Vaccaro is our go-to chef for any occasion. He is professional, great to work with, and his food is outstanding. He has served our food needs on many occasions, from small private dinners, to large office parties. He always exceeds expectations.
We have attended numerous dinners hosted by TBD foods, and the food and the convivial atmosphere are always excellent. The dishes are inventive and tasty, and it's hard to pinpoint a favorite though the pasta dishes and desserts are always hard to beat. We have also hired TBD foods to cater a private dinner party at our home. They are friendly and willing to accommodate any specific desire and will work with you to customize a menu.
