Sorry this pro can’t do your job, but we know other pros who can.
Introduction: Rhythmic Arts has more than 20+ years of experience providing music instruction, music therapy services and early childhood music and movement. We offer individual instructions, group and/or individual music therapy sessions, and the Music Together® early childhood music and movement curriculum. Our services are provided to you the way we would like them to be provided to us. We take pride in the high standards we set for our staff, our research informed practice, staying current with trends in music education, music therapy and early childhood education through attendance in trainings, workshops, conferences and membership in national associations and our community involvement through recitals and volunteer work. We enjoy seeing our students eyes sparkle when a particularly difficult concept is learned, and we love how they burst with pride for a job well done and they know they worked hard to get there. We enjoy seeing our kids grow up into responsible and kind adults who continue to love music and make music and who still keeps in touch with us after all these years. We enjoy leaving a legacy of passion for life and art.

FAQs

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

    - University graduate in Music Therapy and Piano Performance with a minor in voice and choral conducting. - Board Certified Music Therapist Licence #08864 - Neurologic Music Therapist trained at the Robert F. Unkefer Academy of Neurologic Music Therapy - CPR/AED for the HealthCare Provider - Registered Teacher with the Associate Board of the Royal Schools for Music (ABRSM)

  • How did you get started doing this type of work?

Music has always been part of my life. I've been teaching music since I was a student in college and love the process of teaching and learning for both the student and teacher. Then later on as I learned about music therapy and decided to go back to school, I was hooked for life. Lessons could now be extended to students of all abilities! There was no such thing as a "challenging" student anymore. Just looking at people in another way was refreshing and finding ways to work with different students made the experience very fullfilling. Music therapy certainly brought my love for music, teaching, psychology and science together.

  • What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

People think that because the student is a beginner, it doesn't matter who teaches them. On the contrary. A strong foundation in basic music competency is so important in music education. Find a teacher who understands this and the student will flourish and learn so much more in a shorter amount of time than if they find Ms. Doe down the street who's an accountant and teaches piano on the side without any knowledge of methodology books, motivational approaches, etc.
