Introduction: People tell me I am different from other teachers they have had because, I am patient..Very patient..I remember some of the guitar teachers I had when I was a kid..They were impatient, and academic..It wasn't until I took from a real pro, who was out playing every night, that things worked for me..He was patient..So I could just relax, have fun and learn! It was from his tutelage that helped me explode into a lifelong career in music! I also do student showcases at local venues to give those who want to perform live a chance to do so! To me the greatest gift I can give to someone, is to help them find their talent, and their voice..My greatest joy is to see them discover what may have been dormant for years, that they didn't know they possessed.. Everyone has music in them.. Its a primal thing..

Rick is a highly experienced national caliber musician who has the ability to instruct at any level from the absolute beginner to the seasoned pro. I met Rick over five years ago when my first band had been performing shows for about a year. Rick has helped instruct us on guitar, performance, equipment setup, live sound, and recording. With his assistance our band now plays regularly at many of the top regional venues. I've met only a couple people in my lifetime who know their craft so well they can teach it in a way that even challenging skills seem simple, and who are willing to share anything they know. Rick is one of those people. He takes a strong personal interest in the success of the musicians he works with, and will do anything he can to help them reach their goals.

Before I met Rick, I had plateaued as a guitar player, songwriter, and overall musician. I have known Rick for a little over a year now and he constantly pushes my boundaries so I can be the best musician that I can be, is fun to be around, is caring, provides professional and personal insight, and I am proud to say that without his guidance in music and in life, I would not have grown nearly as much musically, professionally, and personally. The only thing that could improve is that there were more hours in the day so I can learn more from him. (Get on that, Sensei!)

Rick is a great musician! He is very patient, flexible and kind in his teaching style! He has been working with my now seven year old son and myself for a year now, it has been a very positive experience for the both of us. I would highly rcommend Rick!

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have created a professional music network in Austin, Nashville, London, and Colorado.. All of which help me stay up to the day current on anything music related..I have mentors that I interact with consistently, that help me fill in the blanks..
How did you get started doing this type of work?
As a professional session guitarist, and recording engineer, I was really busy in the nuts and bolts part of the music business.. By chance, I had a family friend ask me to teach their 8 yo daughter.. After a few get togethers that turned into jam sessions, I was hooked..This is what I am supposed to be doing!
What types of customers have you worked with?
Teach guitar (Electric, Acoustic..live and recording level) Teach bass (Teach you how to get your sound, and, get and stay in the pocket) Teach vocals (ear train, vocal training for live and studio, harmony training) Ear training (for vocal, and guitar) Song writing (on guitar, and piano) Performance (I personally have done over 2,000 live performances in front of as may as 25,000)
